islandgun
I had an antique rto delivered today care of gummy bear following an advert on here. In the last few weeks I bought two RTOs, three drills, and two stands, one stand broke, I sold one rto, the bench drill is up for sale i will live with the other two drills. My point "one which could be varified by underdog i think" is that this approximateley 100yr old RTO is its ##### brilliant ! a few slow turns on the old handle results in a very passable finish. no noise, whirring bits, crushed or overheated cases, joy thanks gummy bear "and underdog" IG Edited November 28, 2015 by islandgun

islandgun
looks great velocette, I just cant believe its taken me so long to do it, I use a old lee loader both in 12 and 10 bore, and just load a few for duck and geese or cookoffs subsonic load, there are three videos on utube under the heading of shotshell reloading without a press, one of which is using antique tools and the first time i looked at it was two nights ago ! what a plank

storm in a teacup
That's the type of thing I would like to get as I love the idea of keeping an old tool alive. Can you load 3 1/2 inch cartridges with them?

Can you load 3 1/2 inch cartridges with them? Yes I dont see why not, look on international ebay I sourced two Lee loaders 12 and 10 bore and there are a few RTOs, It is slow measuring/ weighing components but very interesting and ideal for more specialised low quantity loads
Old farrier
Great stuff Anyone got a 8 bore one ? That they would part with All the best Of
islandgun
Of The hand RTO is a real pleasure to use You could use the nail and dowel method in place of the lee loader and the glue seal ! But Im sure a man of your calibre would be able to knock out an RTO hand tool, When you have it figured out can you let me know so that I could do the same with my 10 bore Just googled antiquegunsandtools.co.uk they had two 8 bore RTOs but you might consider one at £650 to be out of your budget or perhaps you could go into production
Old farrier
Lol does it come with the gun 😗 I have made one that works in the drill 😋 Although I find it nice to use a bit of history All the best Of
panoma1
I have an 8 bore RTO, but it is not the same design as the one posted on here! I was told it was probably made in the 50's by a firm called Adams punt guns? Who apparantly no longer exist but were located somewhere in the Borders? It works very well! The loader under £50 ? RTO start at £10 depending on condition Did you look at the series "Shotshell reloading without a press" on utube that will point you in the right direction
storm in a teacup
Just finished watching it. It looks a little too easy!
islandgun
Just finished watching it. It looks a little too easy! Forgot ! that you dont need a RTO if you use the lee loader and once + fired cases but they do need to be in good condition without cracks on the crimp, It is easy and addictive also the RTO finish in the video didnt look all that hot
storm in a teacup
Cheers, its time to hit ebay. edit: ebay does not have any antique RTO machines.
