I have a carp porter, many many years old, I use it for dragging deer out and have tried for pigeon shooting but, summer the crops to high for punching down the tram lines and winter you have to stop every 100 mater to scrap the mud off the wheels. The best way I have found is to take a minion to carry it all for you.

I have no shop bought as to much money for to many pains in the a.... Now, Mr miller, I make my own for a lot less money and to date, never had the issues with poi shift. Only issues was when the battery dies after 5 hours of bunny bashing.

I set no width as I open wide for kneeling shots. I do set the distance from front to back, I set to the sling swivels are on outside of sticks, when the rifle is set I can then hold the sling tight against the front stick and if need be I pick the hole lot up and swing around, very handy when yet set up ready for fox and the begged comes in from behind. When making I !easue to the eye for total length.

WHAT! shooting rifles into trees. how naughty.!!! Fishings good for the soul... -
I have the older 2004. I use it for motorway and on occasions to extract deer but treat it like a 2 wheel drive and you will be fine. Fuel is not great. 22-26 but I run LPG so makes it worth while.

Just been reading on nvforum. Looks like yours is not the only one going back. Poi shift on magnification. Tether laggy on image. As well as a few other things. Even marky couldnt put a good word in for it. Maybe after a few software updates it might get better. I was going to order one but glad I held back and boughta shot gun instead.

Cheers gent. JDog, as ever the gentleman. Very kind of you. I have decided to take stripey99 out on Saturday, I think I have found a few birds so will sit back and let him fill his boots. He needs 'out' as much as I do at the moment.

Well, with everything that's going on at the moment I have had no real heart in going out. So, last week I thought a bit of retail therapy was in order. Well if it can work on a woman then why not on us. So, out of my favourite gunshop a came with a lovely little Fabarm Axis. 30" barrels and 16.5" LOP. Today I decided I was going to make an effort and get out and have a play on the pigeons. Not a long day, just midday onwards. Shame the pigeons didn't read the script as there was none around, not like me to go out without a good few days looking around but it was a case of suck and see today. Got in to where the birds normally feed but there was nothing around. A few I knew where on the back fields but their not mine so thought I would set up and see if the odd one would drift over. Well it was more than the odd one, It was two, that was all in 3 hours so I cleaned up, washed the dogs off in the pond and then went up to a little coppice in the hope of a rabbit or pigeon coming into roost. There was no rabbits around but one of the dogs flushed up a pheasant for the bag and then a crow drifted over which took the shot and fell miles away over the boundary. This was the case of all the pigeons too, all fell over the way to where I could not get to them. Looks like the fox is getting feed tonight. Then just as I was walking out the wood a squirrel caught my eye, bead on it and down it fell, then another one tried to run across the canopy but the second barrel pay to his escape. All in all it was nice to be out, OK the pigeons didn't play and I missed more than I care to share but it was all about being out. Not sure when I'm out again but once in a while for a walk in the woods might be the best I get for now. Not a big bag and a fair few have gone to the fox but its not all about the bag for me at the moment. Its about get out. Oh and my new toy. All the best Phil

Nice work jdog. It was I nice day out.

If cooking on gas then their good. If your on electric then forget it. You can't get the heat into the pan for sealing meat. I have tried a few and would never do it again.
-
Kind words but you kitchen skills are to die for. Terry will vouch for that

Sounds good BB. One day I might be somewhere close to being half as good as you.

Bushwear have a good collection just get the right size. I made a load of MDF templates for a friend to cut his own as he had loads in the barn that he never get rid of.

You will need a 12v supply to the screen as well colin

Focus isn't very sharp on their filming is it. I don't understand some. First they build the hype, same as they did on the photon, then can't deliver anywhere near the suggested time.mthen when they do get a shipment they do a dodgy video job. Surly after all the hype first impressions impress, they at least need to get good footage or it will flop to quick

I have been running both home builds e700 and mk1 photon. Its all in the lighting. Give the right amount to the photon and its a good bit of kit. T20 with a doubler and its as good as anything else, shop bought, in its range. My home builds are very good but then I would say that. I prefer the screen of the home build as its more sociable to my buddy. We have had some right giggles over the way things fall over. Had a fox one day. On the 22lr, 15meters away, just sat there with head in air as if he didn't care. Let a round loose on it and it was as if I missed. Few seconds later it just slumped. Had a rabbit in the string winds the other night, again qwith the 22lr, gave it 4" of wind and 1" hold. Hit the back of head, ncj was giggling as all you could see was a blood spray. Both these shots would only have been sent by me if I didn't use a screen so I find the NV near eye a little anti social
