bit of a lose. not sure where I am at the moment
activeviii replied to activeviii's topic in Off Topic
Some news, good, bad¿? Just have a message from Lewis's (Monkey001) other half. The basics are, he has been suffering with migraines for a while. It was put down to stress from trying to move house and his job. 33 years old. Spent every evening in the gym. Was happy go lightly even with the stress On Wednesday he suffered a massive stroke. On Friday the doctors said 'if' he was to survive he would be in a vegative state. The hard and massive decision was made that the life suport should be turned off and he should be allowed to quietly slip away. Knowing Lewis he would want to be left in that state but, 2 days on and he it still with us. His other half said it was just like him, stubborn and still fighting to the very end. I really really hope he fights and come back to some sort of life. Defy the odds and show the pessimists he isn't ready to go yet. Knowing him as I do I would say he is getting his moneys worth out the system. Thanks all for all your kind words. Muchly appreciated King regards Phil -

Thanks Dave. Not a lot can be done I guess. I think you meet lewis at the range a couple of times. Came the same time as nick. I feel for his other half more than anything. Only just moved house after a lot of hassles trying to sell their place and being messed about by the bank on the mortgage. Move 3 months ago with everything going for them. I took him and his other half out on the pigeons not many weeks ago where she has her first ever feathered pigeon with her own gun. 33, that's no age. -
Do walkie talkie's interfere with electronic ear defenders?

You can plug the walkie talkies into the HL and then use them as head phones too. -

Cheers Jdog, kind offer. At the moment I need to be around for the family. Just a **** day really and I needed to get it out I guess. 20 NOV will be a day I will never look forward to. -
You know them days when things don't seam right and then thought out the day you find out why, well, Thursday was just that. 1 year ago my very best friend and a big part of the family had the devastating news that he had cancer, fair play he tried everything bit lost the battle a w3k before his son should have been swimming in the commonwealth games. 2 years to the day before he was diagnosed my lost her nanna, again a close and dear friend to my wife. Thursday morning I had a call from a friends wife, he had a stoke on Wednesday and due to the harshness of it the decision was made to take him off life support. He was 33, a member on here and one of the fittest, happy, easy going people you would ever wish to meet. I went stalking that evening just to get away from it all. 3 sad times for that day was more than enough. While out stalking I had a call from my wife. She was in a bad way but the jist of the call was her brother, very close family, had just phoned to say he had been in hospital for tests, these tests had shown he is in advance stages of liver cancer and Christmas is touch and go. OMFG!!!! He is more a brother to me than my own family. A single parent trying to bring 2 boys up on the breadline and to proud to ask for help. He lives over on the other side of the country but once he had the news he was on his way over to here where the rest of the family live. Numb! That's all I can say now.

I replaced the one on a t3 just for looks. I then bought 595 with a cracked shroud. Thought the one off the t3 would do as a replacement, turned out it was a very sloppy for so had to order a 595 plastic shroud. Be careful as there both slightly different. Bit like the bolts

A dot punch in the corner. Then the bottom of a boot just to tidy it a little more.

100gr pro hunters with h414 powder. Running them towards the Max book load. Very very impressed with group and meat damage. That's in a styer I load for. 100gr interlocks with viht n150 runs on single hole group at 100m. Running at Max book data. In a T3. Have loaded 100g gamekings as well as 85g but both smash the pants off every thing they hit. I still load the 85g GK just for fox.

Just had another fault kick in on a mitz outlander 2.4 2004. Been one of them months were it all goes wrong. Warning light on, then its off and then its on. Been doing it all month. MAF sensor went so Replaced that one then the value so a strip out and clean then back lash was out again so reset all them. Now light on again. P0135. I don't have the tool to remove the sensor but a test with multi meter shows its the top left oxygen sensor. Question is, will the two be the same as I was about to buy a basic and solder the plug on but then it got me thinking that they might be differant and mess about with the readings. There are two before and two after. Are denso OK as I really can't affort the £150 price tag Phil.

Never had a problem. I always use them. Quicker turn round the gmk as well. Just give a spam email address as you will get a few emails a week from them. Forgot to say. I ordered a hammer for a friend 687 and then topped the order up to 50euro for the free delivery then did next day delivery for 14euro as they get cheaper too. I ordered on a Friday and it was on my door Monday at 9am. Plus you get parcel tracking. I have no problems ordering from them.

Wish all the best and a speedy recovery to the gent. So easily done. I use all viht powders and forget what's what at times but written on the inside of the reloading cabinet and then dyno print just the calibre on sticker that sits over theowder number

Cerakote without doute. All my rifles and semi auto shotguns are painted in it. Some I have have painted, others o have done myself. Veryveasy job once you know what yours doing and have the basic kit.

Well, if you click on the link in the sticky it will take you to the 2014 guildlines. Seams the gov has done the mods a favour and changes their page. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/363016/Guidance_on_Firearms_Licensing_Law_v10_-_Oct_2014.pdf

50g ttsx. 222rem. Varget
activeviii replied to activeviii's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Barnes suggest h322 or tac, as I have n130 in the cabinet I will have a play. H322 Max gives 3052 and tac is 3114 yet it shows the h322 being the betterowder even though its slower speeds. Thanks for the info. I will load and try again. -
.222 and 40-45g bullets
activeviii replied to colin lad's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
I have never got my head arpund this idea of faster is better in a rifle. The target species will know no difference. I never run a load flat out. What's the point, 52gr amax at 2650 is all I need.if I can shoot less than 2" group out at 400 why push it more. I'm not going to gain anything more other that burnt put barrel, more reloading costs and a fox dead a tiny bit quicker. I know my drops in the mildots so no need for me to speed. The lee book shows varget on the 50 bullets but after reading Barnes data from 50gr ttsx it showed it was running 1gr lighter on ttsx compared to copper jacketed so I loaded varget a grain lighter as a Max load then reduced 10% to start. Chrony speed where around 2900. No pressure sighs at all but a more powder load would be compressed. -

Yes please, data is always good. I use benchmark behind the 52amax. I only load light 21.5gr and backed off and land by a lot. It around 1 mm back as I was having a few strange issue with the odd tight round. I just backed it off and put a 5 group test down and it was .75 group so stayed there. Couldn't get benchmark in a few places and powder from hodgens is very patchy so now about to load with n130.
