Pm'ed you MAXtich -
NJC on here will be the guy to ask, he has the reamer and go gauge for the 17 hornet. as we speak he is using a cz 22hornet as the donor rifle and having a new barrle cut to suit in 17 hornet. from what im hearing he is willing to hire out the reamer and go gauge. as for other makes, its either Savage or savage at the moment.

.17 Hornet approval - Vermin or fox or both
activeviii replied to Kes's topic in General Shooting Matters
It was about 3" round. the hmr was around 1" but full track though the soap. factor loads give 3650fps. they say its a mild loading but from what I and others have seen, i would say it was that mild. I do like the idea of the trigger on the savage but i didnt like a few other things about them. im going to wait for a while to see if a 22 comes up to use as a donor rifle or cz start turning them out. Hull Super-fast 29 pigeon 6
activeviii replied to activeviii's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Thanks for that JD but really it was the superfast thats needed. the price is right for what you get. I use a 28g at the moment but liked the 29 6 hull. I will keep looking. -
wood glue and shot is safer. mix some shot into the glue and then pour into hole in wood. tap down to tighten it all together then glue a plug in the end, once dry you sand to finish then oil. molten lead is dangerous. pour lead into wood that has water in it and you will get burnt. pick up the tin with gloves, you will get burnt. i use welding gloves and these get very hot. i have been making my own fishing leads for 20+ years and you very very quickly learn to respect the stuff. if your not sure then ask and adult.

Hi Steve, They only have the 27-7. bit to light for pigs. i have used them and they do knock them over but i will only shoot the close decoyed bird. not fair to have runners as their a little to light. they are £175 per K I would drive to them if they had them as i want 3k, thats £45 postage. thanks any way ATB Phil. -
Gents, On your travels to the local gunshop would you be so good to ask if they have any of the above. Im in the gloucester area so i dont want to drive a missive distance but swindon, forest and surrounding will be ok. im wanting 2-3k. maybe more if the price is right. I have found them for £165 per K but thats chester, a wee tad to far i think.hehe. they are very fast carts and hit hard, down side is they smash the hell out off they shoulder when you put 2-300 out in a days pigeon shooting but they work rather well on dropping birds so i will put up with it. thanks guys for your time. ATB Phil.

Range day madness with some Firebird targets
activeviii replied to njc110381's topic in Sporting Shooting Videos
Honest, it wasnt me screaming.lol. i did duck the first time mind you. Great day, Great company. Thanks ladies and gents. -
I have a U2 love it to bits. i do have jams but thats down to me and the shear amount of carts i put though it out in the field. come rain or shine. i only clean when i get a jam but in truth its only because on using cheap carts that are rather dirty. it handles everything from 25 upto 50gram and maybe more but thats all i have used in it Andy Crow seams to like his.

For me yes it will be the last. I cant keep doing it. the body is resisting to much. I might have to go back to the old way and just do a few hours at a time. well done for trying to get a few ducks
-
ha! no! you will not learn anything by getting others to do it. after you have messed it up 10 times then i might help.
-
Great photo. I just can understand some people though. Why would anyone what to shoot them, they are there cleaning up the Roo pit, what happens to the guts if there was no fox there?
-
I think its just the one. its been around for 3 years, every year about this time,on the cob nuts. buries themall over the place causing problems. i think its a body grip. not mine, borrowed.hehe.
-
Prickett antler. easy to do. cut to length, file smooth. drill hole and fill with shot. or a bit of brass bar. glue on a bit of hardwood and polish. drill hole for lanyard
-
There cockers Terry, is there such a thing as a knack**ed Cocker.lmao. I get a good warm fuzziness when i can give someone a good days shooting. feels like im putting a little back into the sport.

Been having a bit of a problem with one of these things. Borrowed a trap from NJC and left it to work. Only the one to get rid of but9 days later there was a flag out the box. Made me laugh anyway.hehe

Not been out for a while due to a few issues but today i managed to sort a day out. dragged a good friend with me as a bit of a pick my up tonic for him as well. been seeing a few birds flittering around for a few weeks now but the patch of land is small and locals moan so i try to only shoot it a couple of times a year. wind and rain today and the birds just wouldnt decoy as one would like so it made for some blumming hard shooting with Stripey pulling of some very nice shots. I believe it is his ton up since he has been shooting and from what im told he has been shooting for as long as the shotgun was invented.hehe. anyway. hard birds. great company and a big bag to deal with. 275 picked up and no doubt a few have been left to feed the foxes.

because they can be used on air rifles. you can buy a silencer for an air rifle, like the SAK, that are proofed for rim fire. if you then want it to go on for an FAC rifle you will have to go speak to your RFD who can enter it no to their books and on to your ticket. it is then in the system as a moderator. most of the time it will be no know number and no know make. I do know of some that will take your old NKN/NKM and swap ot for a new one. this helps the FLO out as well as its less paperwork for them
-
If their fresh, skinned and have heart, lung, kidneys and liver still in then i will give you £1.20 each. must be full grown adults and either head shot with rifle or ferreted. no damage to body.lol. I dont ask for much hay.

GWA Getting Wide A55

If you shoot them off the field then they will go find somewhere else to feed, you take the chance on their new place being better then your place and not coming back. I was shooting a pond, i only took 2 each time i shot, the farmer wanted them off so i shot 7, 2 were shouting at me so i let them have it in all. they havent come back since, that was 12 months ago.
-
Well done dunc, put a few cloves and black pepper corns in the salt water. it will add just a touch of flavour and get the earthiness out. Will have to see how my flight ponds pan out. not good at moment but the geese tend to fly after a bit of the white stuff. Im in 2 minds on joining next year but i have a bit to go at here for the moment. ATB Phil.

A few hours on the pigeons with the lad and pup
activeviii replied to olivhar01's topic in Sporting Pictures
6 months!!! and you have it in a hide with a shotgun, Sorry mate but thats not very good, the pups ears are still not fully formed and all your doing is damaging them. take it a little slower ay. Nice one with the lad shooting though.
