No sympathy whatsoever from me I'm afraid, I was made redundant from my job last December along wth another 150 people, a job that I had for over 10 years, it took me a long time to get another job and this one is just a temporary contract, there aint a great deal of work out there at the moment, I would gladly have kept my job without any raises or any bonuses, the security of a permanent job is a rare thing these days, if you aint happy there try getting another job somewhere else ! sounds to me like you get other perks anyway, like spending time on the net when at work, a lot of people are taking pay cuts and unpaid overtime at the moment just to keep their jobs.

I allways dry mine off with kitchen roll before freezing

I must admit I prefer not to hang birds, the longest mine get hung is overnight, usually because imediately after the shoot we clean the guns then have one or two (usually more) drinks and have a good old craic about the days shooting, next day I breast the birds, put them in salt water for a few hours then wash and freeze, as has been said previously it's a matter of personal taste, this is how we like ours.

I was speaking to someone a few years back who worked in advertising, he said that there are only two types of ad that companies want to use, either really good ones or really bad ones because they are the ones that people remember, unfortunately the cheaper option is the really bad one so they are the ones that are on telly most of the tme, this thread shows how well they work because almost everyone pointing out the bad ads has mentioned the company name, like it or not they have gotten into our heads... subliminal advertising at it's best.

I'm 45 and I watch the clock round every night, probably get 3 or 4 hours max, I'm usualy flat out when the alarm goes off and struggle to get up out of bed, I can't remember the las time I slept all night.

A driven shoot on my mates land, we were a bit short on beaters but it all worked out ok in the end I think, I couldn't make it to the shoot as I had to take my daughter to look at a potential sixth form college

I always used to use SVO in my land rovers, 100% in the summer and 50/50 in the winter ... that was until it got more expensive than diesel, WVO is a bit risky because of the salts and water in it, ok on an old knockabout but I would never use it on my main motor.

Mine's in the loft too and it seems to be ok up there, no condensation anywhere that I have seen, I stick a couple of the silica packs in too for good measure.

There's thousands round here (East Durham coast area) we went out last Saturday and got 60 odd, and this Saturday we got 81, both over stubble, whilst driving to the places we were putting the hides we could see every field was carpeted with them, loads left when we were setting up but there was plenty left for us to have a good couple of days.

Three of us went pigeon shooting, set up at around 8 and finished around 3:30 ... 81 pigeon and 4 crows, all showered and had me tea, going out to watch the fight later with mates and lots of amber nectar, a very good Saturday I reckon.

I joned the NGO, 30 quid a year and full insurance cover too, when you're on a budget like me every little helps.

2 bangs is what most birds hear from me as they fly away laughing.
