  1. Billy, Have you and Zak Dingle ever been sen in the same room at the same time?? B)
  2. I think the answer is, it costs the same as punching paper and is much more fun! .22lr wouldn't be much use at 250yards either, and it looks a bit windy for .17hmr..
  3. "Trooper is Canadian" (*** don't people fill their location?? ) No we know that, the advice would be different. Go to Walmart and get what you like, it will proably only cost you a couple of hunderd $'s anyway Or better still open one of those bank accounts where you get a free rifle - even better :o
  4. I normally only shake it gently in the first week or so to get all the sugar disolved and then leave it. Shaking it every few days for that length of time you deserve a medal! I don't know about adding sugar later, I guess someone on here may have made a bit of wine in the past may be able to answer that one. Mine, in the past has either come out a bit too sweet or a bit fruity, but now comes out sopt on every time, just a bit experimentation until you get the mix how you like it.
  5. LS, The Gordons stuff is 'thin' and that is being polite, it tastes too much like their Gin which can never be a good thing. The Plymouth version tastes much better, but is more expensive - I wonder why But niether are as good as your own when it goes right. GB, Strain it out through muslin (not a muslim) you will get some bits but I normally decant it and let it settle, just be careful not to shake it up each time you pour some out.
  6. Out of interest Mike, has that helped you decide in any way?? I picked up 391 on Saturday after hearing so much about them on here and couldn't believe how deep it was in the action. I shoot a 687 which is very low profile in comparison. . .
  7. At the risk of topping that . . . I was given an original metal 5 shot one by a nice person from another forum, and he even dropped it through my letter box! So I have 5 shots in metal and plastic and 10 shot in plastic. And the plastics work just as well and weigh less, so 26 quid isn't so bad after all

    red kite

Aubs, you have described a red kite perfectly. As HH said they are ten a penny round our way, we rarely see Kestrel's any more as a result, and it is right they only feed on carrion they are not killers. When they were released, rabbits were shot locally and left out for them to get them into fending for themselves. They don't seem to stray too far from there release point which could become a problem, I have seen 6 working one very small field, so competition for food may become an issue. We have walked up under a pair from behind and you can get really close they are not too shy, it is only then you realise how massive they are - fully grown they are much bigger than Buzzards even.
  9. I agree with Sergeant, I wouldn't get toooo excited until you have spoken to your local Firearms Officer, he may have some bad news for, unless you live on a farm or have a good reason to own. It is pointless telling you what would be expected of you where I live as it varies from area to area and FLO to FLO (and you don't say where you are from) All I can say that is you would not be granted a centrefire initially without a very good reason to have one. Find out their number, and give them a call, it could save a lot of heartache.
  10. Try 60+ quid for a plastic Tikka one!
  11. Does anyone know of a video sharing site? could be worth sticking up there for people to download?
  12. He is called 'Ghostrider' that is why 'Black Knight Rider' doesn't retreive anything :*) You can download the movies, but I think you have to register now, obviously got so many hits they deceided to make it into a busness Heh there is even a Forum! http://www.ghostridermovie.net/
  13. I was sent it ages ago, but can I find it now!!! :*) I think the name is wrong, searching on that doesn't find anything usefull, I will keep trying..
  14. Lots of Love ! LOL!! Laugh Out Loud - more likely
  15. Axe, Buy a Goretex DPM jacket, they may be a little bit noisy but they are breathable and 100% waterproof. I laid in about 2" of water in Scotland in mine waiting for a shot and when I stood up I was as dry as a bone. DON'T get the plastic one though, you will sweat your bits off, make sure it is Goretex. If you can't find any info on the web let me know and I will dig out them name of the place I got mine from.
  16. I have only just started my next lot 11 months to go and counting .... I may have to buy some this year, but I won't be wasting my time/money on the Gordons stuff.
  17. I used to buy the Barbour stuff, warm it up WARM not HEAT and then apply it with a cloth. As stated use a hair dryer to get a nice even finish if you end with a few lumps. Now, I just buy decent breathable machine washable clothes, much easier
  18. Sort of, but not really: http://www.eley.co.uk/benchrest.htm
  19. Very good condition, used so very very minor marking, opticaly perfect. Unboxed, but includes bikini's. See picture, PM me with any questions. No 8 reticle http://www.schmidtbender.com/reticlesstandard.htm £230 including courier to mainland UK
  20. For standard dovetail (1/2" or 13mm) ideal for air rifle or rimfire, came off my CZ452 - hardly used. Chambers sell them for £22, you can have these for £15 including P+P to mainland UK. Drop me a PM if you are interested.
  21. Nice work Frank! I couldn't get any more 50Grn Sako's so I bought a few booxes of 55's on Saturday. I am off to the range this weekend to try it at 100 and hopefully 200yrds as well. I have a bucket load of American Eagle 62Grn FMJ's but I have a feeling they will be too heavy to get reliable results, but cheap enough for some initial zeroing (I have new scope/mount setup so I need to start from scratch) If they are no good I can use them up in my mates AR15 if he brings it
  22. It's all to do with confidence, but if you feel it will make a difference it probably will
