    5-0

From start to finish I thought it was an excellent series (with the right result) played under very sporting conditions, Shane Warne was the first to congratulate Peiterson on his innings. All the talk in the tabloids is just part of the game, psychology and all that :( Can I go back to work now?

    New Scope

Well it was abit tongue in cheek, probably feeling a bit cocky as I have just bought another S&B
  3. Would help if read your question before answering! You should mount the gun in the normal way and fire at a point on the plate, they normally have a cross in the middle to help see where you are going. I don't understand why you are dropping the muzzle before taking the shot, that sounds like the problem to me.
  4. It's normally a big slab of steel or similar, that is washed down with a weak solution of white emulsion, you fire your shot and then you can inspect the plate to see where each pellet went. A pattern plate can be used as Henry said to check choking and the pattern (hence the name!) of your shot. It can also be used to confirm gun fit, if you aim a point on the plate and shoot high consistantly, for instance, then there is something up that needs fixing. In a way it is better than getting some one to llok down the barrel at your eye/rib alignment as it is dynamic, or more like the way you are actually going to use the gun. I had a gun fitting with a try gun at West London Shooting School, once the gun was adjusted I shot it against a pattern plate to confirm all was well, and guess what..... I missed it! Only joking, but it must have happened! Hope that makes sense.

Do they sell good scopes as well?
  6. The things you see when you haven't got your rifle with you eh!!
  7. It's here, scroll down the right hand side and click on 'image resizer' Once it has installed when you right click on any pictures you will get the option to resize, small, medium or large. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx
  8. You need to resize the pictures, you can get an image resizer from Microsoft for free, not often you see those words in the same sentence! If you can't find it by searching under 'power toys', let me know and will find the direct link and paste it in here....

    Another joke

Scroll down to 'joke of the year' - don't you just hate that!!
  10. Shooting Sports and BASC mag. I used to get the Shooting Gazette but ended up feeling like I had gate crashed a party of very wealthy people and I certainly don't belong there :*)
  11. Rob, Why do you get through so many? are you the restless sort or do you just to try them all out? My short Air rifle history is: BSA Super Meteor .22 swapped for radio control gear in about 1978, still in the family, now owned and doing sterling service controlling magpies by my Dad!

    dog v cat

I have been soooo close to this situation many times with our dog I often wondered 'what if...' Fess up, may be the best answer, but you never know what the reaction will be, mild histeria or absolute histeria being the 2 most most likey outcomes  Cats are treated differently to dogs, as far as I am aware, you don't have to inform the police if you knock a cat over in your car, but you do if you knock over a dog? so if you decide to do nowt, you may not be breaking any laws as such.
  13. Nice place though Scotland, incredible scenary forgot to add that  - I am looking forward to coming up to help reduce your hind population next month!
  14. Why I want England to win the Ashes, so why should I want the Aussies to stick one up them G.M. He is from Scotalnd Graham, the people who support Germany and Argentina when they are playing against England. Something to do with not being very good at much themselves I beleive 'dog in a manger' syndrome
  15. Can't find any, us Brits are not quite as keen as the Yanks when it come to self publicity! I noticed the guy in the original vid used a pump too. Those boys must be using 12 shot auto's then, I didn't know there was such a thing..
  16. I was more impressed with speed and the quality of the photography really, these were sent to me with a load of other stuff on email
  17. Let us know how you go with it Frank, I am looking to get a .223 later this month (maybe as early as next Friday  ) so I will interested in the results. My mate shoots American Eagle through an ar15 (with a match barrel, trigger etc) and the results can only be described as very average at best.. As always it seems to be horses for courses, I have heard dozens of people rave about PPU ammo so I have tried it twice now in my 6.5 SE and I can't get it to group at all, I am off to the range next Saturday so I will give the remaining 30 or so I have another go. If they are still **** it is back to good old Federal Classics - £1 a bang, but at least they go where you point them If I get organised enough I will take some foties of the grouping for both PPU and Feds for comparison....
  18. Not strictly sporting pictures, and they don't have any well endowed women in them either :yp:
  19. A lot of come and gone, I wouldn't like to think how many there must have been over the years - I think Walther barrels had an almost complete list at one time. In the UK I would bet half a dozen calibres make up 80-90% of the guns owned. Getting ammo for the more obscure calibres will be a problem.
  20. You will read all this stuff and end up buying a Remmy in .243 like everyone else :yp: There are zillions of caibres but unless you relaod (and even then it can become a problem) don't stray too far off the beaten track. Put up new post 'What is the best calibre' and see how many replies you get to that one!!
  21. It's the nearest you will get! Seriously though, you deserved to win, good luck and don't drink toooo much :yp:
  22. Well the last test match starts today, let's try and enjoy that :yp:
