  5. Hi Jayson good to meet you great bloke to trade with Cheers Smig
  6. I use both ways - one of the benefits of paunching (squeezing)is that there isn't an opening for the flies etc. to get to; I mainly use this in the warmer weather and gutting them when its colder and flies aren't a problem. I agree about the superman grip but I lay them across my knee for the final squeeze and its a lot easier G
  7. I use a Tikka M55 with a 1:9 twist, pvi 55g bullets. I am limited to the distance I shoot foxes due to footpaths and safe backstops on my permissions but the rifle will go hell of a lot further - I just don't have the opportunity. HPH
  8. I purge them in water for a day, rinse & cook for 4 minutes then let stand in the water for 10 minutes. Once shelled and cleaned up they taste just like prawns. I've used them in salads with a Marie rose sauce; homemade scampi and the next lot I get I'm going to do a curry with them. I guess the colder weather is having an impact on the size of the catches as they don't appear to be as active as in July. HPH
  9. Unfortunately it's a fact of life - there are just too many people not minding their own business and meddling in others lives - sorry to say but it looks like this situation isn't going to end well / soon (If they have already been cautioned wasting police time, bought & set up a cctv system & spot light they are set to be a right royal pain). I guess next steps from them are letters to the paper / spreading malicious rumours / radio phone in rants etc. I note you are a member of SACS - can they offer any advice or help (apologies if you have already done this), are you keeping a log / game diary of time, date & quary, it may help you later if accusations are raised. I personally would definitley keep shooting the area but offer some of the rabbits to animal rescues etc for pet food. Hope I don't get a similar situation on my permissions so wish you all the luck mate.

  11. Hi I've got the MTC one, haven't looked through the others so can't comment on those I'm afaid. I use mine for the 1.77, 22lr & HMR (+ the 22-250 when I get the scope sorted)and wouldn't be without it. Simple to use - select metres / yards; select your target and press the button (even I can use it ;-). It struggles with targets over 400m/yds but I don't shoot that far so not bothered. Battery shuts off it's not used so the battery lasts for ages (mines over 2 years old and not changed it yet!) Not brilliant at low light but then I guess that is where the Leica / swarovski stuff come into their own. When I first bought it I was using it all the time (guessing the distance and then lasering it), although my guess-timates have improved, I still carry it in my left hand coat pocket. Also, it's handy to scan the fields with rather than pointing the rifle everywhere. Hope this helps

    Scopes

I have an AAS400 & had the same problem with my Nighteye so sold it. I'm using a simmons WTC 2.5*10X50 now - parralax had been adjusted before I bought the scope for air gun ranges and is clear as a bell. Currently saving up for an MTC connect though as the WTC is a duplex reticle & I have come to the conclusion I am more accurate with a milldot (or MTC's AMD/SCB) reticle.
  13. I had the same problem - a full strip down & clean (gun not me) sorted the problem BUT it took nearly a full box of hornady's before she became a tack driver again afterwards!! Hope this helps

I've used it on my AA S400 for the past 3 years or so with no problems, admittedly I have never shot over 50 yards with the rifle though. If the reticle was mildot or similar, I would definitely be keeping this. Hope this helps
