  1. I'm out tomorrow so going to try the SIPE 28g 5s. I'll let you know how I get on.
  2. If seen them pushed from maize into a wood where the guns are lined out on a ride, some would carry over the guns others would lite into the front of the wood and then be flushed again when the beaters went in.
  3. If possible you want the green mineral felt.
  4. Go on and treat yourself to a 20b, I did 2 years ago now and now it's all I own, admittedly I don't shoot clays with it. I started with an early 687 silver pigeon 29.5" fixed choke game gun which you can pick up very reasonably, I've now gone onto a CG Maxum 30" multi choke game gun which I must say is a very nice gun to shoot. I set out with all intense purposes to buy the Browning 725 Hunter in 20b which they had in stock but after handling the two the browning was not an option. I would say have a good look round and if possible shoot a few, then once you've sorted the gun the next problem will be which cartridges to use!!!
  5. Just went over to my local gunship to stock up on some 20b JK6 and was told that they have stopped making them, I assume this applies to the 12b cartridge too, something to do with the jk6 not being available anymore. Ended up with SIPE.
  6. Today's the day!! Enjoy your new motor, I am slightly jealous though TBH!!
  7. I didn't buy them, and I never intend too, I was just saying that they fitted straight onto my gun. Which I must say, is the nicest gun I've ever owned.
  8. I purchased a new Guerini Maxum 20b today, the guy in the shop was telling me about the interchangeable barrels, he then proceeded to take the barrels off a 28b model they had in stock and they fitted straight onto mine. He said including a forend would be about £1000.
  9. As I said, there's know need for it, a crack of the flag when in cover crops, or tapping on trees when in woods is plenty enough IMO.Noisy beaters just scare all the birds to the end of the cover and they flush in a big heap.
  10. Noisy beaters!! All that high high high and farm yard noises, there's know need. Also, beaters dogs that run out from the wood/cover and start picking up shot birds.
  11. Just after the opinions of current .223 users, looking to spend sub 1k on full set up for foxing, this will be my first centre fire rifle. Is the Browning A bolt in the for sale section a good deal? Thanks.
  12. Truth of it is , Aldi (as do other supermarkets I'm sure)sell selected products at a loss to get you in there shopping and make there profit on other items you might buy.
  13. If you going with the lads, Have a look at The Genarator Hotel, we stayed there in the summer for a long weekend, 10 minute walk to las ramblas, as for things to do, get the open top bus for the day, it's great for a raging hangover!! The Nou Camp is worth a look, even if your not into football. Come to think of it that's pretty much all we done apart from get drunk. If your going with the Mrs then the Genarator is probably not for you.
  14. I once shot all the onions my dear old Grandad had strung up to dry at the end of his garden with my black widow catapult, he was NOT happy!
  15. He got a 10 month suspended sentence.
  16. Had a two day trip to Scotland a few years ago, we shot back to back days on the same estate, on the first day most of the birds presented were nothing better than a standard suffolk pheasant, on the morning of the second day it was mentioned to the Keeper that we hadn't travelled all this way to shoot average birds, his reply was " shoot em low, stack em high!! " We havnt been back.
  17. Saw the first one of this season when feeding this morning, lovely sight as it drifted past in the twilight.

  19. If it's the 2 I'm thinking of, did they follow you with a megaphone and video camera? Their always don't this, they are a right pain in the ****, **** all better to do with themselves than try and ruin everyone's day. When they used to follow our convoy of trucks and beaters wagon we would go to another part of the shoot that was away from the public roads.
  20. Well done on your first Grouse. I'm not having a go, but assuming those emptys in the pic are what you used ,is it normal to shoot them with such a heavy load? I've never had the chance so I'm just curious.
  21. I was listening to The Best Of in my truck only 30mins ago!! Great album.
