  1. Just go to California, pretty much everything there has a label to says it’s carcinogenic
  2. I agree it would be easier but would also mean that the pizzas are no longer in contact with the stone floor so not stone baked anymore.
  3. With respect, what a load of antivax pseudoscience conspiracy nonsense. using a very clear anti-vaccine / anti lockdown website as a reliable reference source is pointless. I can create a website and fill it with rubbish articles to back up any argument. Your logic is sound - if mortality increased in groups with low vulnerability who had been vaccinated compared to their unvaccinated peers that yes, vaccines clearly are causing issues. Trials have so far proven that both the AZ and the Pfizer jabs are near as dammit 100% effective at preventing death from Covid-19. I don’t know what today’s global number of vaccinated people is, but millions have now been jabbed, likely saving tens of thousands of lives - we are skirting around a potential link to blood clotting in a tiny tiny number of people - just to be on the safe side. There’s no conspiracy-why would there be? Who is going to gain from vaccinated people dying or being ill? No one.
  4. Wasn’t taken as one. They are lovely inside and so comfortable, I drove all the way to Cornwall last year (just over 5 hours) without needing to stop and wasn’t tired at all when we arrived. I’m sticking with V90 cross country for now, the boot is quite a bit larger than the XC60 which I’m finding useful.
  5. Sorry! All the B5 diesels I have had get about 46mpg average when I’m on dual carriageways / motorways and about 35mpg around the villages. I don’t drive in town so don’t know urban mpg.
  6. I’m planning on fishing next week, ladybower and probably blithfield too subject to weather.
  7. yes, I am sure Italian would argue about authenticity. That one pictured was a first go with a simple dough. We will also be trying sourdough base as my wife has got really good at sourdough bread. Plus we need to experiment with different base thicknesses to get the balance of practicality (ie being able to get the pizza on and off the peel) and crispness. Living where we do with all of the surrounding villages having Stilton creameries in them it’ll be a spicy fallow mince and Stilton pizza with home grown spinach I want to try!
  8. I did measure the wooden base on the underside and it was only about 30C but was damp - I think because of upcycled decking which probably wasn’t completely dry and also steam still coming out of oven base. I don’t think it would have been likely to transfer enough heat but the oven is now sat on slabs with an air gap too so no way the base is at risk. The chimney is removable so I intend to cover the hole rather than the end of the chimney when it’s not in use.
  9. Thanks for that, that’s what I was thinking of doing, plus making sure chimney doesn’t let weather in and making a door to protect inside.
  10. Well it works, but obviously not quite dried out yet as the concrete still steams (but luckily hasn’t cracked). I have had two larger fires going, 350c and then 550c inside, outside of dome still cool enough to put your hand on, 30c so it definitely insulates. I’ve since managed to lift it onto slabs rather than straight on that wooden base just to be on the safe side but I don’t think enough heat gets through to be an issue. When the weather warms up it will be rendered to make weatherproof as currently under a tarp
  11. And your risk of a blood clot from the AZ vaccine is < 0.00000167%, so Covid is 10,000 times more likely to kill you that the jab is to cause a blot clot (which probably wouldn’t kill you).
  12. It absolutely is not possible and that website is absolute tosh. I can probably find internet sources to back up any wild claims, as per that one they are probably written by unqualified loons. edit - plus, this thread is about the AZ vaccine which is a viral vector vaccine, the Pfizer one is RNA and still cannot alter your DNA any more than your morning coffee can.
  13. T6 petrol is 300bhp (T8 PHEV is the most powerful) I think has air suspension, it’s only available on trims with “pro” on the end - I prefer inscription pro trim to R design pro as the massage seats are great. The pilot assist is great once you trust it and it’ll do motorway driving for you. T8 PHEV is a calculation you need to do...pure EV range is only about 30 miles, then that supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine is dragging around 400kg ish of battery pack and getting about 22mpg. Also the 4x4 system relies on the EV system driving the rear wheels, so if you run out of battery charge, you don’t have 4 wheel drive anymore. T6 3.0 petrol obviously thirstier than the diesels I run but in normal times I do 84 miles a day commute so didn’t want to T6 economy. If I had a short commute I would have a T6.
  14. I have Volvos as company cars, over the last year I have had 4 XC60 B5s, currently have a V90 cross country and a new cross country is coming next week. I took my XC60s off road, not proper off road but muddy Lincolnshire clay rutted tracks, and fields sometimes with snow and sludge - with huge great 22” wheels and a smear of Pirelli rubber I was initially concerned that they would struggle, but they did brilliantly and went everywhere a Disco 4 and all the pickups did. The 4 wheel drive system is very good. I will probably revert back to an XC60 for the game season as the air suspension gives a lot more ground clearance than the V90CC. Almost 250bhp with the mild hybrid system giving power before the 2 turbos the B5 power train is really nice too.
  15. Some of those creatures look like they’d have teeth in there...
  16. I had an argument with the wife for the first time in ages the day I had mine...maybe it was the jab that caused it.
  17. Not sure that’s sound logic...more likely a strong reaction to the jab indicates a strong immune response therefore either you had a previous Covid exposure, generating antibodies whether you knew about it or not or you generally have a strong immune system capable of fighting Covid.
  18. Great name! My black working cocker is called Jet
  19. I too have been hoping for my first fly caught Atlantic salmon...problem has mainly been not living near salmon rivers! When we are able to travel (from tomorrow 😀 to some extent) I will be again trying the rivers on the West Coast of Wales for salmon and sea trout and also this year I plan to try to South Tyne and have a second go at the Eden. I also need a lot more practice casting my switch rod two handed...after a year of lockdown I’ll be happy stood in the river whether there’s any fish about or not and no matter how many tangles I produce in my leader! I haven’t yet tried to tie any salmon flies but have no shortage of materials (thanks to Walker570) so will try to find some simple patterns. I have some salmon flies which a fried tied which I will use, I also bought some - which are only fit for the bin in terms of tying quality and monkey metal hooks).
  20. It was more a veiled reference to something much less English...
  21. Certain cultures still have high level of inbreeding in humans and then wonder why they have a very high percentage of congenital abnormalities compared to normal behaviour. Inbreeding is just wrong and likely to result in poorly offspring.
  22. Well it’s pretty much complete now - base finished and today have joined the dome to the base. Once that’s dry it’ll be time to gently fire her up - can’t wait. To the guys who’ve made perlite ovens before - how weather proof are they? I am considering rendering it once completely dry, or I may build a roof over it.
  23. Probably water colour!
  24. Travel for fishing allowed from Monday! Rivers will probably be brown lol!
