  1. DO NOT FEEL A PLANK!! we are all guessing here mate but trying to help and probably making things worse ! Where is your local shooting ground? Well worth at least one lesson to get things sorted ;-)
  2. lol, one looks cast on the other cast off so must be fairly straight.
  3. More to the point mount the gun few times with your eyes closed, raise and lower it with your face snugly on the stock in a comfortable position as you would in the field. open your eyes, which eye is over the rib? If it is not your Right eye (the one you choose to use by closing your left) you will always have to cant/tilt your head to get on line, if the gun is cast on you are really making things tricky at this early stage in your shooting career . Get some help at at shooting school, well worth it this early on ;-) Don't leave it years like I did. atvb Paul.
  4. If you have been sold a left handed gun while mounting from your right shoulder that can't be right? fair enough if you are going to shoot off your left shoulder in the future to match your left eye dominance but that should have been your decision on which way to go or at least explained to you??
  5. For the last two winters I have really been impressed with the all in one base layer thermals off the bay. For roofing work where lots of stretching/reaching is involved never had a bare/ untucked back all winter, warm as and never sweat in them at work so no problem walking/ shooting. I will say this though , have a dump before you leave home ;-) atvb Paul.
  6. Try them both for fit. I have a sp1 20 bore and a 12 bore Evo and the 20 bore is a lot higher in the comb than the 12 . atvb Paul.
  7. Mine was a factory 16" cz American in left hand, how long have they stopped making them? mind you it was a hmr not a lr. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/377/cz1ub1.jpg/ atvb Paul.
  8. If your son turns out to be half the lad my daughter is you will have a life full of happy days!!! enjoy. atvb Paul.
  9. I have tried every combination but for me and how I gut them the sooner the better, while hot/warm no fear of nicking the gut as it is easily mobile. As Kent really.
  10. Never a lender or borrower be ;-) old saying but dead on.
  11. For years had a Titan single shot Manitou, with a little practise loading in the dark on a cold wet night was easy ;-) don't be too quick to write it off if it is in your budget, all part of the learning curve.
  12. In the last twelve months I have bought a couple of new Berettas. A sp1 in twenty bore and a 686 evo in 12 bore. A while back I had a sp111 sporter made in 1995. I will be the first to say it was a better finished gun, no doubt about that. However the two new ones I have are great, they fit me better than anything else out there though the twenty is a little high in the comb, nothing that can't be sorted and the twelve is about as good as it gets off the shelf for me. The newer ones are made to a price but if they fit they are not going to be shot out any time soon. There will always be horror stories with mass produced items and usually only the pi**ed off ones can be bothered to post their views. atvb Paul.
  13. Hi Josh, this one must be within reach of you; http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/BSA_Air-Rifle_Ultra_For-Sale_131101163055027 atvb Paul.

  16. spot on. I always go for this as most I shoot at are sub 100yds. We had a meet this summer and mine was set up at 50yds.need to get out and put this right once work lets me!. atvb Paul.
  17. Sorry I could not have offered better Neil :-( That was a steel . atvb Paul.
  18. We had a Proton MPI 1.3 Petrol, not a Diesel. We put 175k on it, nothing done other than a service when we felt guilty , the same exhaust from new and Tyres when it really needed them!.....It really is pot luck, if we all had a crystal ball ;-)
  19. you are most welcome :-) nothing worse than getting some thing the wrong size, glad to have helped mate. atvb Paul.
  20. What is the length of your semi ?
  21. Ok, Slip measures 51"or 1295 mm external from butt to inside of tip ring. Gun measures (686 evo 30" external chokes ) 481/2" from toe to end of chokes or 1230 mm and just goes in with the slimmer butt pad supplied . My 20 bore 30" goes in really easy but has flush chokes. atvb Paul.
  22. For sure!! just watching the end of Holby then I'm on it :-)
  23. more very thin coats, there are no quick fixes .
