I wasnt sure to pop this on the Cafe thread But to cut costs i make a pot of soup maybe 2/3 times a week and the wife and i will have a plate for lunch then at tea time another plate with a bag from a bakers , Stephens is the only bakers no to do this you just sign up for the app a bag costs £2.59 you order a bag , bags at 18.15 the night before and you pick them up at 16'45 the next day only thing is its pot luck what you get it can be anything we usually get 4 sausage rolls in a bag we got so many we got a drawer in the freezer full of them and we empty it when the kids come for tea. We get bagettues , bakes can be any kind sausage rolls we even had them filled with black pudding , rolls cakes and dounuts and doughrings , a bag usually does me and the Mrs 3 days I saw on tv the other night stores are doing this as well but its pot luck one person just got a bag of apples LOL

I watch my Grandson who 3 im 61 and cant keep up with him as he is a real live wire but its pouring outside so he has a coffee table covered with dinosuars and watches you tube a Japanese guy i think has covered all his Plastic Dinosuars in paint Red ,Green ,Blue and Pink then he drops them into a bucket of water and washes the paint off . It gets to me after a couple of times but he would watch it all day naming the dinos as they come out the water

Yes but you know what gets me a mate only had 6 years mod then we both got 25 years ill health at last job he doesnt pay tax because hes under the threshold where i do as i had 14 years more mod service They tax you as you earn it and tax your pension that gets to me Last year they gave me another lump sum as i left on the last day of 2022 in the middle od the tax year two weeks later a nice letter YOU HAVE UNDERPAID YOUR TAX BY £500 we will be taking it from your next months pension , I wrote everything down it was the department of work and pensions that sorted out my tax band

Tell me about it i got illhealth at 60 handy time got 25 years from my last job and my 20 years mod pension at the same time as i was 60 squirrelled my lump sums into the bank for the future and there worth nothing . I should of been better off though they still tax me as with both pensions i was earning more than wages from my last job . Then all the prices go up so i now need to be careful and tighten my belt
