  2. HI. Last two penknives for sale. First a boxed and as new Colt ROY ROGERS KING OF THE COWBOYS penknife. Two three and a quarter inch blades. One a clip blade the other a spey one, Both in quality stainless and shaving sharp. Knife has never been out of the box and could pass for new. You may class this as a silly collectors knife but in fact it is a quality item and well put together, brass liners and nickel silver bolsters. Strong springs too. Scales are said to be bone, "they look like it" I have read that the scales are from the leg of Roy's horse Trigger "but that's perhaps not true" 18 or over to buy it please. £15 posted and that's got to be a bargain. Paypal. SECOND is a Metal boxed COLT 175th anniversary knife Again stainless blades two and a quarter inch. Looks like bone scales and also never been used or carried. £12.50 posted.
  3. Thanks both of you. To PM

    PENKNIFE.

Hi . Having a bit of a clearout of my knife drawer Not putting them on all at once. First up is a pair of BOKER "gentlemens pocket knives" One boxed and one not. Almost identical knives except one is Boker plus. Scales I am sure are bone and neither has been sharpened. blades are 440c Both carry minor marks "pocket carry" Springs are very strong so good nails required for opening Large blade is two and a quarter inches and quite sharp. Lovely little knives You must of course be 18 or over to buy. £15 the pair posted. First to say on open forum gets them.
  8. I have found the best mix for freeing things is ATF "automatic transmission fluid|" and turps or paraffin 50/50 mix. As has been said stand muzzles in the mix for a day or two.

Hi I have a shed load of penknives I wish to sell but I am sure when i attempted to post one a while ago it was refused at the post office counter. What are the rules on posting legal none locking penknives . Anyone knw please.
  12. I can relate to that! Been into Notts today, like a racetrack.
  13. Perhaps but the insurance companies are taking advantage of whatever figures and doubled my insurance as I am over 84. On a recent renewal I got quotes from 15 difference companies. All were within a few pounds of each other and astronomical. Two refused to quote. I have never had a claim.
  14. Program on the box tonight on old drivers. What are your thoughts? I fall into that class but am very safe, I rarely drive above thirty mph so when I do hit things it's only gently. Trucks are a bit scary when they overtake me on the motorway. I always stop at islands and apply the handbrake also when joining a motorway. I can also easily read a clean number plate at ten yards. Seriously though what are your thoughts and are we dangerous. From what I see I think a mini driving test for over 70s would be a good idea. An eye test at present is not compulsory and I suspect many old folk dont get tested even though it's free.
  15. Halfords do a scratch/scuff kit in most colours.
  16. Hi anyone heard of the new £86,000 cap that LA can take when you go into permanent care? Care home is telling my sister who will have to go into permanent care that LA can now only take £86,000 out of her estate instead of an un limited amount as before. Anyone else here involved in this ?
  17. Thank you poor shot for that common sense reply. I run a 2litre 180 bhp diesel and get more than that
  18. Sorry not heard of it but from my experience Ballistol is perhaps not the best rust proofer. ACF 50 beats the lot but it is not a lubricant.
  19. We do have a cop shop. Cant just walk in, there is an outside phone which puts you through to another cop shop 15 miles away.
  20. Does not matter if its legal or not. If it moved we shot it! I will go and hand myself in!
  21. It was quarter inch square elastic for me too back in the 40s. I remember how deadly i was with stones from a local river bed. Made one again a few years ago and could not hit a damn thing. "exept my thumb"
  22. I am not a dog person but I feel your grief. Lets hope there is a doggy heaven.
