  1. having just read the post on shaving oil, it made me wonder Now what do i wash my cammo cloths in I normally use BOLD for my every day washing,( not really everyday cus its wash day on a Monday) cus it has a softner in (and it smells really nice) they have a new one out now, it smell lovely it do. any way back on track. washing powder. what do other members use to wash there gear in if i washed it in forest breeze, Bold again, its nice  do you reckon that the rabbits would mistake the sent for a tree or a bush or something like that from out of a forest.
  2. tell you what "Ive", between us i dont think that pigeon shooting is our thing
  3. think about it !!! in a years time will a 4 gun cabinet be big enough. very much doubt it. you have gone for the extra deep- therfore i can see rifles in there as well as shot guns. very small opening to slip your well loved guns through without knocking the stocks. you can bet you bottom dolar that a large % of folk on here have changed there first cabinet to a bigger one shortly after. could be worth a poll. Im one of them. 1st cabinet just for 1 shot gun and air rifle. then rimfire then centre fire then another shot gun now thinking about another rimfire. save the extra dosh and get a bigger one you will need it
  4. ok no offence taken  just wouldn't want you to go and spend £79 and get it nicked. just rub salt in the wound that would
  5. just got in from rabbiting only got 6 but all were from 50 odd yards to about 100 i doubt i could have have done that with an air rifle at 32ftlb or a 22 rim using subs. nearly all were head shots apart from one which was a chest shot because of the angle ect, but all died where they were shot. you pays your money and takes your choice. Agree with Ive on the fact that questions will keep on cropping up that have been asked before, its conversation thats all. If some chap in the local talks on a topic that you dicussed the night before do you turn round and tell him "you should have come in last night when we were on about that" and not talk to him. I wouldn't think so
  6. How would putting the trap closer to the release pen help? Not knowing the exact location of the traps pens ect, i wouldnt be sure it would help, true. Just had the idea you could move the traps so they could not be found. But obviously not. And i did say that "if it was me"
  7. Unfortunately the public or should I say course anglers have access to the site during the day. It is a magnet to magpies and and other corvids and I trap on the site all year, had 78 magpies since first sept last year. The traps get interfered with on an irregular basis, but most annoying when I've been advised that I've got a couple in one trap in the morning, and when I arrive at night both the trapped birds and the call bird are gone. It makes them very difficult to catch a second time, we usually get them by changing from top to side entry, but it all takes valuable time and diesel. We're having 300 poults in august and I want to get it sorted before they arrive or I'll have to spend a lot of time watching, and I'm too old really for unarmed combat. We have a suspicion of who the culprit is, just need a bit of proof, I'd hate to take action against the wrong person. I've been given an ad for a 79 quid digital camera which I think I'll try, just hope they don't nick that as well, or it will be war. Thanks everyone for the replies, I'll let you know how it works out. Andy (http://www.woodlandorganics.com/stealthcam/index.asp) just had a look at this stealth cam. It is not infra red. it uses a flash. so i am sure that if someone is nicking your birds dont you think that they would find out were that flash came from and nick your £79 stealth cam along with the evidence. i can assure you that if it was me nicking your birds that i would also have the one think that could incriminate me. couldnt you just move the trap closer to your poults.

  15. I will give you the same advice i got as ive just recently gone up to CF. you will need to try as many batches, different bullets in weight and manufactures as poss and find one that your rifles shoots well, expect some ups and downs though. If your lucky you will be sorted out prety quick if not well, just get some practice in It can be very frustrating best of luck and above all be safe and enjoy

  17. Hi anon60521 just had a quick peep at your profile, , as it would have given me an idea of your age. Because - it would give a iclue of any income that you may have or if its pocket money your spending on repairing your air rifle. But no age is shown The cost of a replacement spring would not i'm sure amount to not much maybe £20 not sure but the job would be a goodun. Way that up against the cost of maybe a fine or at very least the confiscation of you air rifle.if found using it illegaly your best bet is the gun smith that was wise enough to tell you in the first place what would happen if you whent ahead and did the job yourself. Start off on the rite track and you will not go far wrong
  18. been on the waiting list list for 18 months whent for a walk round the other day. cant wait to have a day on there. good head of bream and carp into double figures, and some pike in the high 20s

  21. This sounds very efficient and all went to plan .. doesn,t it...wrong.When i first got there and started to set up i realised that i,d only gone and picked up the bolt for my .22lr how in the hell i didn,t notice as it,s only half the size of the .22 250,s is beyond me.So it was a 12 mile round trip home and back ... serves me right. Feel free to laugh at my expense...i am....wot a **** GH Sounds like a god set up and nice shooting. As for going out with the wrong bolt well bet there's loads on here that have done simalar. like the night i whent out the first time with my 22.250 the other week. Like yourself all kitted up flask the lot, then hang on a bit what on earth am i going to put in the bloody thing to shoot out the barrel. Left the amo at home. All the way back and start again. Had a result though.
  22. nice shot bet he was happy the farmer not the rabbit
