    game pie

We had been invited to a friends house for food and drinks last night so I offered to bring something food/drink wise, I was taken up on the offer so I made game pie which turned out very good. Everyone had a bit and really enjoyed it so I thought I would share the recipe. There is a bit of prep time but I think its worth it. The meat i used was the venison and goose, mallard, pigeon, woodcock, snipe and rabbit. Here's the link, http://www.bbc.co.uk...es/gamepie_8555 My pie
  2. One of the guys I used to shoot with happened to close the bolt of his SX3 on his thumb and the extractor claw went straight through his thumb nail
  3. well done . i aint shot a canada before, very rare we see canadas up here
  4. At the start of the season when its milder I pluck the next day, but when its colder i let it hang a bit longer. I have seen geese hanging a week when its snowy/freezing.
  5. I use this for carrying any ammo or spare mags when out http://www.amazon.co.uk/Life-Venture-Lifeventure-Accessory-Case/dp/B004WDWCIO/ref=sr_1_75?ie=UTF8&qid=1355728064&sr=8-75 I wear it on a belt and if I need to crawl I just slide it around to my back. It keeps the ammo and spare mags clean and dust free.

  8. I had a couple bricks of winchester subs that were the same as you describe, at a quick glance there seemed to be no hollow in the point at all but it didnt affect the performance at all. I wouldnt worry about it, if they perform to your liking then thats all that matters

  13. Does anyone own a T3 lite blued/synthetic? Just want to hear some views. I am after a 6.5x55 and want a tikka, I was wanting a laminate/stainless as I think they look great but I want a tool not an ornament if you know what I mean. Look forward to hearing your thoughts
  14. thanks for the replies guys. the T8 sounds good with the different bushings. dont think i will bother speaking to the police as the police here wouldnt know the difference between a mod and a smartie tube.
  15. we use FUDs and find that they work as well as shells, i say "as well as" because some times geese wont look side ways at your spread and the next time they would come into a balloon on a stick. they are easier to carry which means you can carry more. we have found that they are no use on water. hope this helps.
