likewise i must apologise but there's no way i can exclude certain people from the list ie. ignorant anti's! they infuriate me! other than that, pigeons that flap about feeding on the other side of the field to you, merely doing it to taunt and tease you. people who have nice guns that i can't afford, and also ignorant anti's!!!!
  4. in light of the prices at essex gun and elsewhere for these guns new, will the price be dropped at all for this one hunter gatherer? i only ask cos i might be interested in a lower price.

no way we'll go the way of hunting, everyone saw how much of a cock-up that was when they banned it, plus if they ban shooting then how can fishing still be justified? so they'd have to ban fishing aswell and seeing as that is the UK's most popular sport i can't see it happening! long live shooting i say! BM (note: i am an avid fisherman aswell!)

it's a tough one, but i think i agree with snakebite, i'm proud of what i do as a shooter, it is entirely legal and all of the major political party's manifestos have accepted the benefits of shooting as i'm sure the majority of the public does. i enjoy it, and i enjoy sharing it with other people who feel the same. i do agree however that if people were trying to print off member's photos for the sake of recognising them, or attempting to find adresses then there is cause for concern, and perhaps changes to the site should be called for, i think it's very sad that we should have to do that though, anti's are just so ignorant. anyway, cheers BM
  9. :yp: i like that gun, i mean i really like that gun. no money tho.

    ironic

i don't think flash is suggesting there aren't intelligent americans, and in a way i too can sympathise with his feelings about an american teaching english what with differences in spelling, but the fact is that we desperately need more teachers in this country especially in english and maths, so there's not a lot you can do. plus i'm sure she's up to the job. just my thoughts, :yp: BM p.s poacher, my philosophy lecturer is italian with a really strong accent, that can be a bit tricky!
  11. reckon you've got yourself a good idea there mungler, i'm sure it's been done but not by me, couldn't take a 4x4 to the places i shoot. :yp: if you do give it a stab make sure you let us know how it goes! :yp: BM ps. shame bout the pigeons mate, after all that effort, can't half sympathise tho!
  12. i certainly didn't notice!
  13. apologies, being a young airgunner, its probably with reference to airguns. however, if you ever get a shotgun - now you know what to do!

    Flatulence

If i might be so bold i should like to challenge that recipe, my friend recently injured his knee and as such has been taking a whole array of painkillers and other such drugs, and these things are doing more worse than good. when in his room the other day he approched me, turned around, reversed and released into my face. i however soon had the last laugh when i was instantly sick all over his floor. that my friends, was the finger of God. i can still only see through one eye. can't stop laughing about some of these (petebrady)
  15. where you set up your hide will depend obviously on conditions and the field itself. if you want the wind coming from behind you then accordingly you will select a hegde, tree or wood that allows you to do that. as for how big the hide should be, you will not want to stand out too much as would a larger hide, but you will need to ensure you have enough room to shoot safely, for example when a pigeon comes in and you just get up to shoot but have to be stepping around lunchboxes etc, it just wouldn't work, similarly you don't want to have to be so close to the front of the net that you catch the end of your barrels in the hide as you raise the gun to shoot. height of the hide is usually just a matter of preference, guaged usually according to how you will be positioned for most of them time in the hide. i prefer to stand or sit on a shooting stick so i have my hide as high as my poles will allow, others might be sitting lower so will also have the hide lower, but again this will depend on conditions of where you are, where pigeons come in from the sides aswell as front for example, you might need the sides or the whole hide higher. It is largely common sense and the rest will come with experience of being out there, try out and see what works best for you. Bm
  16. did you get them all on your own? I had someone else in the hide with me but I was just showing him the ropes, he did manage to get a few though, bless him. funny coincidence, when i shot my 50 i had a rookie with me, i let him put the decoys out that day and allowed him to be master tactician ever since, but owing to recent pigeon catches, i may well have to take over the reigns once more, its a shame, he showed a promising start, but hasn't been able to bring them in since, obviously just got lucky on that day!
  17. mine's about 50, can't quite remember exactly, great day out tho, however, with semi-auto, flapper, and several more decoys on there way in the next couple of weeks, i reckon this summer should be a good one!
  18. does anyone ever see any pigeon in butchers etc? such a nice meat there should be! ps. 30-6, also proud to be welsh.
  19. any pictures you could post sam? how old is the gun? reason for sale? cheers, bm.
  20. once again thanks guys, i think it's good to have a couple of these stories on here, infact, this post can be used as a little place to go when you've had a **** day, especially with posts like that 922 bird day in scotland knocking about (not that i'd like that many to myself!). lookin forward to getting out there again, confidence restored. cheers hitman aswell for the conditions tips Good luck everyone! Badgerman.
  21. cheers hitman, but on that point what are good conditions? sun/wind/cloud? what effects does different weather have on how the pigeons behave? badgerman.
