  1. My rotary arrives today and i cant wait to see what difference it makes. Its set up for dead birds which i guess are the best??
  2. IM sure that the local foxes will be grateful!! Sounds like a good days shooting though
  3. The fields all around are all the same crop. I just wondered more about the line of sight etc....
  4. I have been out to the same spot twice recently and not having much success. Im shooting in a field which is right next to a big roosting woods. On the other side of the field is a smaller wood. There are lots of birds about, but they seem happy to fly straight over, either on the way too or on the way from the woods. A few will come into the pattern and land but not many. My question is this...... Is it better to be in a more open field without the woods so that the birds can see the pattern easier?? Views please....
  5. Nice!! Where about are you Fenboy?
  6. Sounds like a great afternoon! Good stuff
  7. I put 2 crows about 15-20 yards outside the pattern last week and i think it worked? The pigeons werent put off by it anyway. Its supposed to give the pigeons more confidence in the area as crows are more easily spooked etc. Seems to make sense.
  8. Im looking for a ladies barbour jacket, size medium for my wife, Not fussed what colour but in reasonable condition. Many thanks
  9. Hi, Any photos of the harkila aston quilted vest ?
  10. Where i shoot is pretty close to a big roosting woods for the birds. A local gamekeeper told me that i need to be about half a mile away from the wood to get the feeding birds rather than ones going to and from the woods. Any views??
  11. As im pretty new to this, im taking it that the rain normally puts the birds off does it?
  12. I tried my new FUD's last week on rape stubble and they seemed to work really well! I like the sound of the mod though, maybe to get a bit of movement out of them.....
  13. HI Colin, I use the FUD's and so far they do exactly what they say they do! They are designed to be a 3D image from above and when folded out they are about 3-4" across. Like i said very effective but just one opinion i guess. Hopefully you will see them in action soon!
  14. Thanks for that, looks like noon onwards for Sunday then!!
  15. Im hopefully going out on Sunday over some rape stubble, just wondered what the opinion is about the most productive time of day? Last week seemed to be from 3pm onwards..... any views???
  16. Sounds good mate, what time of the day was that?
  17. Yeah i think ill use them on the magnet til theres a couple of dead ones to put on it. Guess you cant beat the real thing!
  18. Thinking of getting a couple of the AirPro spinning wing decoys for my magnet. Anyone use them at all? Do they work!!??
  19. I guess thats pigeons revenge!! Nice one
  20. Defo get a floater, used one yesterday worked a treat!
  21. I have just purchased 12 FUD decoys and used them yesterday. They seem to work as well as all of the hype and i also used two floaters with dead birds on them. There were plenty of times that the birds flew across the top of us without even noticing. There was very little wind and im not sure if there was enough movement in the pattern. The theory is that you dont need a magnet with FUD's but was wondering if it might just get there attention? Any views?
  22. Shot 9 between us over ripped rape stubble, not many but a great day!! 12880
  23. Nice one. If you text me the address ill send you the postage. Thanks again for yesterday, great day and lots learnt! Have to arrange another one soon!
  24. It was a cracking shot mate!! Clean kill too! Shoulders a bit stiff this morning, recoil pad needed!!
