Im off to see these puppies on saturday, cant wait to see my boy!

So i went out today for an afternoon on some wheat stubble. Id been watching it for the last week and sorted out a good place for the hide etc and seen plenty of birds feeding. I had my father in law with me so wanted to make a good impression! Imagine my dismay when id just set up the hide and a bloomin great tractor came roaring around the corner to start ripping the field.... So back to an old place where we chatted the afternoon away and shot nil...... Bad times.....

Nice one mate, i too had my first solo trip a few weeks back and its great to see it work!

Keep at it mate and listen to all of the guys on here! Not everything works for everybody but you will soon work out what works for you. Defo need a hide and decoys though, check out the trading post on here, sometimes offers come up but you need to be quick!!

I am looking for a quad bike to get around on, preferably 150cc +, not fussed on the age as long as it runs. Sensible money but not loaded so be realistic please. Thought id try on here first rather than get a nicked one from fleabay!

Agreed, for some reason they seem to want to leave it alone for a bit, not sure why but???

My farmer likes to get them at all stages of the season, especially before they start nesting again! I guess its down to preference...

Sounds like a tough session! I had trouble the other day when it was hot without wind. I think they stay in the cool of the trees until later on but the flapper sounds good!

Ive heard people say that they set up in the middle of a field and decoy from there. How is best to do this?

Either too much choice for the birds to feed on in nearby fields or there just arent that many around.

Get an old freezer and stock pile them. Just one trip to the game dealer then.

Sounds like a good thing to try, do you set it up next to the other one or completely seperate? Also im in Northants, where abouts are you?
