Tell him to be careful. It took about 2 weeks for my toes to die, it happened that quickly, as I said they still don’t know if it was the diabetes that caused it. In a moment of me playing silly beggars I asked what if I didn’t go for the leg amputation and continued trying various tablets and medication, the consultant said I would die and it would be a slow painful death as the infection worked its way from my foot to my heart 🫣 It puts things into perspective. Also tell your employee that there was 4 of us at one point in a 6 bed unit having bits of us lopped off 🤦🏻‍♂️

Well I am diabetic but they still don’t know if that was the reason, I picked up an infection in my little toe which promptly died along with the one beside it. I had a blockage in the main blood vessel to my foot, they fitted a stent and then removed my 2 toes and part of my foot hoping that would sort it, but no, so when I asked what the next plan was, they said a below knee amputation and if that didn’t work then above knee amputation. 😢 I didn’t take the news very well but after a few days I decided I could either let it define me or just get back to as near as possible as I was before, that’s what I decided to do 🤷🏻‍♂️ First picture is when toes died, second is after toes and part of foot removed, as you can see it didn’t work
  3. I shan’t bother watching it now then

This has been one of the nicer topics to read. Looks like I have led a quiet sheltered life. i was a forces brat from when i was born until my 13th birthday when due to a medical condition my dad had to leave the RAF after 24 years he died within a year. Dad died when I was 13, strangely one of biggest regrets was never getting to go for a drink with him 😕 I had had a few broken bones and now also a lower right leg amputation. apart from that I have done nothing of significance. Never married or had kids. Sort of bumbled my way through life and sometimes when I think of it I have led a somewhat wasted life. I came into this life with nothing, I am the last of my family name and will leave with nothing, not even a legacy. But I like to think it’s been mainly a happy life. Sorry to put a dampener on it 🤷🏻‍♂️
  5. It was tested and found to be an FAC air rifle, I agree about the muzzle flash although that could also have been the sun glinting off the gun. They had to do what they thought was best bearing in mind the woman that first reported it described it as an AK47 type gun. It did look at first sight like a .22 Rimfire and that’s what they then thought they were dealing with. Now I don’t know about you but if I’m told there is a guy on the balcony with a rimfire and he hits the car I’m in then I’m likely to panic a tad as well. He was a dog handler and not part of the firearms team. its easy to look at the “edited” version afterwards and come to your own conclusions, but when it’s you on the ground things appear very differently. As an aside the program on after it is very interesting. ”I was killed by a rich kid” I saw it when it first came out and that really got my goat when the rich parents get involved

Our Asda has the same rule plus topless males are not allowed in either. Doesn’t mention topless females 🫣 That would make a great Xmas card
  10. Dunno what his name is but would get my vote for PM. And that’s not me being racist, there is only so many people we can take on our little island and we passed that a long time ago 🤷🏻‍♂️

Women up here have been told to wear dressing gowns on top of their pyjamas when dropping kids off at school 🫣
  12. Believe it or not I only found this out a few years ago. I naively thought NI went into a pot where all government paid pensions came out of. I was quite shocked when I found out it all goes in the same bin to be paid out from as everything else 🤦🏻‍♂️
  13. Its rare i sleep right through but I’m lucky enough to be able turn over and go straight back off
  14. I take 2 Metformin before bed AND 1 Atorvastatin. I may get up once a night but that’s been something I have done for years. 🫣

That puzzled me, why call the police and not press charges. I know it must be easy to look from the outside and say this without experiencing what they’re going through but something must be done 🤷🏻‍♂️

  17. My money was always on one of Williams kids as it’s the type of thing a child would ask.
  18. This still gets my 🐐 Every report by the beeb starts with “Hamas who have been recognised/determined as a terrorist organisation by the UK government” Never mentions any other government that say the same 🤬

There is nothing wrong with working at MacDonalds or any other what is perceived as a menial job. Everybody has a part to play, it also shows they have the right outlook rather than just sitting about. My nephew worked at MacDonalds whilst awaiting a start date for his apprenticeship in the RAF as a fast jet tech. He is now a chief tech on a C130 squadron. His work ethic got him this far and he has now served for 16+ years to wherever they have sent him including 2 tours of Afghan and was also there on the last week of evacuation

I’m not belittling it, I’m just saying going to uni and getting a degree proves you can work and learn without constant supervision. Which is. Good thing. Did you go to uni, get a degree and in what subject? And has your degree subject helped you find employment?

God no, nowhere near clever enough. But that seems to be the vibe from friends and family that did. I know 3/4 people that went and studied forensic sciences and not one took it up as a job. One became a store manager at Argos and then a supervisor on the 999 Ambulance line. Neither job needed the degree she had but she proved she could learn

In schools you are teacher led to learn. In universities if you get a degree it shows you can put the effort in to study on your own. Yes there are lectures to attend but a lot of not most is down to you to put the effort/work in

A university degree is basically to prove that you can learn things.
