  8. On the BBC news it was calculated to be an extra £2 million in fuel costs per container ship 🤷🏻‍♂️ You would then split that per container.

  10. My tattoos are for me. Yes you can now see the last two I have had done and they are on forearm. They are to remind me what journey I have been on over the last couple of years (hard too forget really when you lose a leg 🤣) I would never get a tattoo just for others to look at. 🤷🏻‍♂️ The moon one is circle of life and the writing one is what the nurses in hospital kept saying to me once I got my head round losing my leg and dealing with getting back to normal.
  11. I have 6 Got my first for my 40th so not quite the same as your daughter. For my first I went to make an appointment thinking I might get a few days to mull it over. He said you’re in luck I’ve had a cancellation 😮 So got it done straightaway. Don’t regret any of them 23 and a half years later, got my last one about 3 months ago, don’t think I’m done yet.

  13. Condolences MM 😕 Im 63 now and in my lifetime have spent 6 months as an inpatient, 3+ years as an outpatient and have have 13 general anesthetic operations. In that time I only met one consultant that due to either pride or not prepared to admit he didn’t know what to do caused me harm, great deal of pain and almost led to me losing an arm. Apart from him I can’t fault the service I have had. God knows where I would be without them
  14. You fou know that Miriam Margoyles did the voice for that?
  15. Why did BASC sign up to a voluntary ban on lead shot without the backing of its members? Remember, the same members that pay BASC’s wages 🤷🏻‍♂️ As to a previous poster who said they had never bitten lead shot….. I have in a game pie bought from a game fair. It proved to me that I would rather bite down on a piece of lead shot than steel.

Good thread this. im in the “I should be able to choose when I die camp” Lets say for instance that I and up being paralyzed from the neck down. I personally do not wish to continue, so I should be able to say I’ve had enough. Over the last 12 months I’ve watched one of best friends deteriorate from being a shooter and beater to losing half his body weight, to having to use oxygen just whilst sitting and having to stop to catch his breath just going to the toilet to then being bedridden in hospital before slowly dying. I was there when he died and for the last few months of his life he just wanted it to be over. They couldn’t cure him, he was terminal. What purpose did it serve just keeping him going, watching him wither away, the last couple of weeks of his life he was barely awake.

  20. Me and 2 sisters were called into hospital when our mam was dying. We had been in there about 4 hours and I asked the nurse about parking as my ticket was almost up (before I got a blue badge) and she gave me a piece of paper to put on the dash that said “Any parking issues with this vehicle please. Contact ward whatever it was), this was when it had an attendant that went round checking vehicles. When I was in hospital getting me leg lopped off it was at the end of Covid but they opened all the car parks so people could park for free
