  1. I have tried several others - Bergara by a country mile - fantastic bit of kit http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/220178-bergara-stag-folding-shooting-seat-l67/
  2. This is what the offending article looks like.............. 32mm diameter I have tried contacting Rotalink - they can't (or won't) supply to the public directly
  3. Hi, Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any contact details for them? I have Googled Combo Motors UK without success :-( .
  4. Hi, I have one of these (excellent) lightweight rotary machines - from UK Shoot Warehouse - Sillosock Hypalite Rotary (also sold by Bushwear) See> http://www.ukshootwarehouse.com/sillosock-hypalite-rotary Unfortunately, after several years of use and abuse, the 'gearbox' has stripped a couple of cogs. It's a small unit - about 4cm across, and sits on top of the similarly sized motor. I've contacted UKSW to see if I can get one seperately and they don't have any - they say all the units are pre-assembled by their supplier and they only order in the required qty to make up the corresponding number of finished units. They were very helpful and said next time they order a batch they will see if they can get a spare gearbox at the same time - but that could be weeks or even months away. Does anyone have any experience of these or any bright ideas please :-)
  5. I had a similar problem with my 391, discovered it was operator error on my part! When loading the 2nd and 3rd cartridges into the receiver I wasn't always pushing the 3rd cartridge quite hard enough in (I blame my gloved hands lol!) The result was that the 3rd one was just going past the carrier assembly and not clicking 'home' into the magazine tube. Took me a while to figure it out because I only did it now and again and therefore the problem seemed intermittent! Felt such a fool when I realised what I'd been doing - I had blamed the gun, cartridges, cleaned it to death etc. etc. !!
  6. I bought one just before Christmas - easily picks up a dozen cartridges and for around £25 much cheaper than some of those I looked at - DECOY brand. See http://webshop.gun.co.uk/shooting-accessories/shotgun-accessories/decoy-magnetic-cartridge-pick-up-stick.html One of my friends bought the Seeland pencil type and managed to break it 1st time out (they are telescopic, like a radio aerial and therefore can be fragile if you are a bit hamfisted with them - as he obviously was!!) Mine's the collapsible walking stick type, pretty sturdy and ideal for finding empties thrown into the nettles by my semi-auto! Pleased with it so far

    Maldives

Have a look at Veligandu Island Resort We stayed there the year before last and it was fantastic. We've been to the Maldives a few times and I think that was the best place - food was amazing! We had a beach villa (quieter than water villas we think) one of the two nearest to the Dive Centre, and it was spot on.
  8. Hi, As per title, anyone any experience of Heatmor outdoor furnaces? They are basically a stand alone, wood-burning boiler which you have in the garden and link into the house heating/hot water supply. http://www.heatmor.com/products.php I went to the Sack Store in Boston at the weekend to have a look, they are using one to heat the entire place. Looks like a good alternative to horribly expensive OIL but of course requires daily loading to keep going etc. Would be glad to hear from anyone who has one. Thanks
  9. Sealskinz are great, really toastie warm, but I also use the 'Hunting' version because I had problems with the latest version of the shooting ones. The latest shooting ones keep the folded back trigger finger in place using strong magnets sewn into the gloves (rather than the usual velcro fastening). Sounds fine but actually when you use them the damn magnets pick up cartridges from your pockets when you are reloading - hilarious to all your shoot buddies as you scramble on the ground picking them up. http://www.sealskinz.com/UK/gloves/kj492-shooting-gloves-olive.html See where the round magnet is shown on the back knuckle of your index finger - both gloves have the fold-back facility, wouldn't be so bad if it were only on your trigger hand.
  10. Yet another vote for Alt-Berg. I'm on my 2nd pair of their leather walking boots (still use the old pair for gardening!) I also have their motorcycle boots which are amazingly comfortable and durable.
  11. Just a heads up to anyone out there who may be offered a Land Rover 90 or parts thereof. My friend had GREEN Land Rover 90 300TDi stolen from outside of the house last night. Louth area of North Lincolnshire. Reg No. is L683RYG Pretty common problem sadly, I suspect it will never turn up - but you never know - someone out there might get a sight of it somewhere further afield?
  12. Go the the WILDFIRE restaurant on Rose Street (just behind and running parallel to Princes Street) http://www.wildfirerestaurant.co.uk/index.html Absolutely marvelous place we discovered by accident a few years back - never disappoints. You might need to book in advance though as it's quite small. She might like shopping at JENNERS department store - on Princes St. - known as the 'Harrods of the North' - lovely old place. Enjoy
  13. Hi folks, I'm still looking - I only asked on PW because there often seem to be people saying how they have gone off FUDs, so I thought there might be a lot gathering dust out there!! Let me know ASAP as I might otherwise buy some new ones over the weekend. Thanks
  14. Thanks for the offer - haven't got plans to head that way in the near future but will bear it in mind
  15. Hi, As per the title - I am looking for another dozen or so Woodpigeon FUDs Must be in good condition - not really old and faded - or shot at (like mine!!) (I don't use the metal spike so not bothered if they have been removed) I can but them new at my local dealer for £23.50 for 6 so need to be a decent saving on that price. I'm in Lincolnshire (near Louth) so either give me a price posted or you need to be near enough for me to collect. Thanks
  16. I went last week - think it was my 57th donation (I must be nearly empty!) - never had any problems, nor much pain apart from the initial scratch with the needle. I work with 15 others and every time I am due to go I try to rally them around to join me, but never manage it - no wonder they are always crying out for more donors if my gang are a typical sample of the population! When chatting to other donors at a session many have often told me they started to donate AFTER a close relative had an accident or medical procedure which required them to receive blood. Think that brings it home to people how essential it is. Come on PW members, get out there and give that 'armful' - you never know when you, or one of your family, might need some yourselves.
  17. They are handed LH and RH on Discovery II. REG000030 is the LEFT hand side, REG000020 is the RIGHT hand side (UK Driver's side) Hope this helps
  18. I bought mine a few weeks ago and have now had a few opportunities to use it. Used it last week on some seriously uneven ground, had the rear legs x2 clicks shorter than the front and it remained perfectly level, stable and comfortable throughout the day. I agree with previous posts about initially finding the adjustment fiddly - however if you DO read the instructions first and oil the studs BEFORE you start they adjust very easily!!! I’ve tried 3 or 4 different types of seat and think this one is in a different league all around. Thanks for the swift delivery too Teal.
  19. Awful news, he is a legend, hope he fights it off as long as possible. Saw him last year when he was touring, and have seen him in the past when playing on the same bill as John Otway - even once over in France! Charisma and stage presence by the bucketload - no-one plays a telecaster like him. Oil City Confidential film is a must for any pub rock fan - or just anyone who wants to see a great 'Rockumentary'. Fingers crossed that he can keep on doing what he does best.
  20. Hi, We've got a Quooker. Did quite a bit of research before we had it fitted, thought it seemed to always come out favourably in reviews which is why we went for it. 4 years down the line I honestly can't fault it - wouldn't be without it now, great invention. One small word of caution, you get so used to using it, probably the most used tap in the house, that if you don't concentrate you MIGHT try to rinse your hands under it when your mind is in neutral - ahem! Go for it - you'll not be disapponted.
  21. I have just bought a new pair of Le Chameau Vierzonord (John Coppins at Willoughby £135.00) to replace the previous pair which lasted about 7 or 8 years. Good, comfortable and warm - I've walked miles in the old ones - only reason I had to get new was that they were getting a bit worn in places and I managed to get a large blackthorn thorn right through the side about 18 months ago (they still didn't leak for about a year!) Old ones will still be OK for dry pigeon forays, new ones will be used in earnest walking through streams and bogs throughout the coming season. Only downside is price - although John Coppin is great value I think my original pair were only about £85.00 - inflation I guess!!!
