  1. Briley make tube sets. US based so not sure on importing etc. Some of the guys I shoot Skeet (NSSA) with bring them back over
  2. Tough one on deciding whether or not to invest in a pension. My train of thought is to have one and I invest in it every month. In real cash terms after tax and NI deductions I would have £100 in my hand if I didn't put in. If I was confident/brave/entrepreneurial enough that cash may be better invested today in a business that would yield a better return (I seem to remember that is/was Alan Sugars approach). I was told a simple calculation to work out how much you should pay into a pension if you wish to have the same lifestyle as you do now when you retire: Take the age you are when you start saving and divide it by 2. This is then the percentage of your salary you put into your pension I started when I was 30, so by this method I should save 15% of my salary. In my last job I paid 5% and the company added 9%. Job Done Anything I get from state pension when I am 68 is a billy bonus. I have little faith that it will still exist when I get to retirement age
  3. Result! They were very good on my initial application. Said 7 weeks and delivered in 6.
  4. Just spat my beer out! For the OP, put yourself in your potential clients shoes, what would they search? How do I get rabbits off land rabbit problem fox eaten my chickens From a web search point of view insurance, basc, reliable will not be a requirement. When they have a couple of 'solutions' to compare insurance etc will become important
  5. I had a 1995 Clio once, changed both Drive shafts in an attempt to fix a knocking noise as you describe. Turned out to be wheel bearing!!
  6. Pick a personal goal, Work out the steps to get there, First step is usually to get out of bed! If the goal doesn't motivate me, it isn't a big enough challenge.

    Taps

I had a leaky kitchen mixer with ceramic discs that I kept putting off fixing. Took the cartridges out, measured and tried to find replacements online; No joy! Tried to clean and reassemble; No joy Went into Wilko's for something unrelated and ****** me the correct replacement cartridges were in stock £13
  8. + 1 on search party. I'm not working at the moment so always looking for ways to pass time

    LCD tv

Speak to the retailer about TV (unless its Comet). Just because it's out of warranty doesn't mean you don't have a right to repair/replacement. Do some online research on 'goods not fit for purpose' and 'for a reasonable amount of time', A branded TV should last longer than 3 years. This isn't an easy route to take (you'll need to prove goods were faulty at point of purchase OR there is a history of failure with this product), but it's better than shelling out £400 notes on a new one!
  10. Reeeeeeesult!!! Unless they're the last 250 cartridges you're ever allowed Congrats
  11. Ltd company costs about £16 to incorporate. As above in terms of advice. Many benefits to be an employee and director of your own company especially in the trades you describe. However there are many benefits to being a sole trader. Your accountant will/should be honest enough to tell you the best solution for your circumstances
  12. Chins up Daz and Spaniel. I left school 16 years ago and have worked full time ever since. Got made redundant at the end of Jan and signed on last Thursday. It was a low point I must say but I've taken everything they have offered thus far (training wise) to keep my mind active. I reckon that is the best way forward Good luck
  13. I did some artic work delivering electronics and we had a laminated note in the door pocket to show to the Police if we were every stopped. It read along the lines of "Vehicle carrying high value load please escort to police station to stop"
  14. Doesn't sound correct 10mm of damage is the maximum allowed in zone A, which is the 290mm directly in front of driver (centered by the steering wheel) 40mm anywhere else within the swept area, i.e where the wipers work. I suppose you could have an 8' inch crack outside the swept area and be ok. Details above are MOT regs so not 'law'. That's where it get tricky! If it were mine I wouldn't drive it. Getting covered in or looking through broken laminated glass is not going to be fun.
  15. Great question (I don't know the answer) Barrels are just 2 tubes welded together Fore end is just a bit of wood with a spring Stock and action is a bigger bit of wood with more springs and pins.
  16. I'm with Lloyds TSB and I had them check. Response was that they were covered on the standard terms (and value limit) of 'valuables'. Obviously if you have a pair of Purdys you might want to list them individually!
  17. Down to the individual I guess, but: My cabinet was flush most of the way round but with a 5mm gap in places due to the walls. I fitted washers behind any bolt holes that were not flush and then ran a bead of decorators caulk all the way round. FEO even commented on how neat it was installed If it looks right, it probably is

  19. BT for me. I left and went to Tesco Broadband, DO NOT DO THIS, I sounded very silly a week later when I went crawling back to BT!
  20. Thursday afternoon for Sywell in the week. I shoot there every Thursday evening in the summer. Great sporting layouts and plenty of options for skeet, ABT, DTL Only shot at Risely once on corporate day, fantastic ground and well equipped shop
  21. Nice and polite with the MD of the company would be my suggestion. Stuff happens and most people will put it right if approached correctly. He may also be wondering why there is a big dent in one of his wagons! Good luck
  22. Great post. I just got my card for 5 donations yesterday. Looking forward to giving much more. We're lucky as the mobile unit comes to the office every 4 months. If I needed blood I would gladly except it so that was the reason I started donating
  23. That's the best way to do it,although iirc the passport photo has to be less than 5years old, still allows a 15 year old photo though. There is a consultation currently ongoing (you can submit your own thoughts) for government motoring services. 1 element is to fully align EU driving licences for all member states and bin the paper counterpart in this country

    Mk v Afc

Forgot about this and went to Ikea (next door to stadium)!! Twas a little busy
  25. 6m Liner, nose cone, adapter and cowl cost about £150 delivered. It's the **** taking HETAS engineers that cost, my quote was a grand to s+f the above. Even the council building control are getting in on it. £200 to come inspect and sign off. Inspect what? Any joints are up the chimeny hidden by the register plate. Bloody joke. I can sit there and burn whatever I like in the open fireplace without CO alarms (I have 1 anyway), without sign off. How did we get out off the caves without a HETAS engineer are local building control. Sorry chaps, rant over. I'm off to calm down abd change a light fitting, surely you don't need approval for that
