As far as the women and children are concerned we should being doing all we can to make sure they can live their lives without fear of being radicalised or killed by cruel murderers . As for the men , not every man in the world was born to fight so if they feel the need to flee a war torn country along with their families I won't judge I'm afraid. All I know is that if I felt me and my family were in any kind of danger I would do anything and go anywhere to keep them safe no matter who I might upset. The fear these people must be in to flee with their children on make shift rafts speaks for its self .
  3. your exactly right. Trouble is the rspb and wwt want to tar us all with the same brush so they are happy just to find ducks with lead in them rather than actually find the culprits. I think it's down to us and our shooting organisations the bring these idiots to light.
  4. I bumped in to a fellow wildfowler one eve and he said you'll never guess what I shot tonight , I started with some of the more rarer species round our parts such as golden eye , pochard . Tuffed. No no none of them he said , I then started naming stuff you shouldn't shoot , shell duck , Brent , SWAN!. No he said you'll never guess. So I gave up and said show me then. He then pulled a cod out of his game bag with a hole out of the top of its head. He said it was on the edge of the saltings with just it back out of the water. It didn't look very healthy and most prob weighed about 7 lb but was very skinny . In prime condition it would of been a 10lber easy.
  5. Don't give him anymore thought. He prob forgot you and your kindness within 10 mins of receiving the ring. To do a deed like you did does gave a great feel good factor about so don't let an ungrateful person take it away.
  6. not good advice in my opinion. One good well placed shot should be all that's needed. If you make a mistake with the first correct with a second . To fire three shots at something in quick succession that will most prob jump or fall after the first seems crazy, what if he misses with the first at chuck one in the guts and one in the rear end. Bad advice.
  7. if it's not what he wanted what's the problem.
  8. why would he want first offer , the caller was for sale with a price stated so if he wanted it he should of said I'll have it . Would you ring a car dealer about a car with a stated price and say I'll have first offer.
  9. very strange. At 25 yard I would of thought every cartridge in every gauge on the market would have the same trajectory except a 9mm garden gun.
  10. give the guy a break, he doesn't come across as patronising to me but seems he just likes to explain the details , he may not get everything right and it's up to somone who may know better to perhaps advise him ( not slate him) . I bet none of us are exact on the way we do anything let alone shoot pigeons.
  11. Nice vid, I don't think your coys were to far out by the looks of the hide camera, but your head camera does make them look miles away , lol. I know people keep telling you to put your coys closer in order to kill pigeons better but this is not always true as pigeons will a lot of the time feel more comfortable further out in a field and can decoy a lot better , I would bet your wounding of pigeons is more down to either gun fit or gaps in your pattern ie chokes or cartridges or even shot size. But I must say I do enjoy your vids as you certainly seem to enjoy yourselves and are full of enthusiasm which is more important than anything you can be taught.cheers
  12. the poor old boy most prob felt that he had to protect himself from these youths as the police most prob failed miserably to sort them out . None of us know the full story but I know for a fact that if I felt I or my family were endanger of harm due to menacing youths and the police failed to due nothing I'd protect myself with anything I can get my hands on. Sod my certificate .
  13. Well done fenboy . Your right and lots of us were wrong. Can I just thank you for making sure that we are all understanding the GL regarding pigeons . To even go to the trouble to email NE to get clarification that you were indeed right to prove us wrongens wrong was a very selfless thing to do and I bet you took no pleasure in it what so ever . Lol
  14. I could of said to a fantastically high standard so I guess your right . Thanks for that. Lol
  15. perhaps the advice your getting is wrong. I've trained a few labs now to a pretty good standard if I may say so myself, and before all training sessions I'll let them go play to do as they please and every now and then when I'm not really feeling a training session I'll get out a tennis ball tell them go play and throw the ball about for them to chase at their leisure . Training should all be about fun and keeping the dogs guessing.
  16. how dare you enter into this topic with your lightheartedness . Lol
  17. he said he has no crop to protect but he has permission from a landowner to shoot vermin ,
  18. shooting pigeons on the assumption they will be causing damage isn't good enough for your interpretation . I have fields 1 mile away from my house with peas so Im assuming every pigeon that visits my garden is damaging that crop of peas.
  19. but with your interpretation it would still be illegal to shoot them as how do you know their going to feed on your fields. It's not about proving their causing damage it's more about proving their not causing damage which is near on impossible .
  20. If the landowner wants you there what's the problem. Tell the landowner that this chap has issues with you and you would like it sorted out ,
  21. I've done that a few times , lol. I've got spare whistles everywhere and disenfectant in the garage.
  22. Hi all, I'm after a dummy launcher if anyone has one kicking about they no longer use , not too fussed on condition as long as works well , cheers.
  23. but if the police think the info they may gather could be false due to a grudge that their informant may have against the applicant how can they use it to ***** them, the op says that no violence was used and I gather no violent threats were made so I can not see why in his case his ex needed to be involed .
