For quality and longevity Ganton s/vests take some beating. As regards to carrying cartridges, I use a belt pouch(nylon/canvas), in my case. I use one for both clays and pigeon shooting, saves all that bending down/fishing about. Regards remmyman

Is a B.a higher than my (A) pass at English Language? Fair play to him, he's obviously worked extremely hard Respect all round. Regards remmyman

To elaborate on my earlier post; the bungee straps that I use are the 'Karibiner' type which are exceptionally strong. I only secure them to the rear poles. I always wear shooting glasses, whether out in the field or on the range. Due to the weight of the karibiners allied to very low tension on the elastic itself, coupled to my use of metal t/pegs, the risk to myself is virtually non-existent. Yes, i will concede that any non-stretch material is the safest option, but as i said earlier this system works for me, never say never, but no near misses(pun intended) after 30 odd years. I've certainly had far more close calls due to getting 'swiped' by branches/thorns whilst building natural hides in the past. Regards remmyman

Personaly, I use long Bungee straps attatched from top of the hide-poles to tent pegs, works for me! Regards remmyman

Agreed, I couldn't even drive for six weeks. The point I was trying to make though is that 'open' surgical techniques have a far longer/complicated recovery time.(at least that's what my surgeon told me) Regards remmyman

I've had Arthroscopic surgery on shoulders and elbows, with more to come in the future. I too, have been impressed with the minimal wound, along with an accelerated recovery time. Hope you're 'back on your feet' soon Regards remmyman

Dunno what all the fuss is about. When I worked on a pig farm, all you had between you and a stroppy 'just weaned' sow was a 'pigboard'! A 400lb boar feeling a bit P----d off was no fun either, especially when you were both in a 8ftx8ft pigpen!! Then again, I am rather hard! Regards remmyman -
I had some with Mr Blair's face on it, oddly enough that changed into Mr Obama once used!! Regards remmyman

All things been equal you are right to assume that these shells have been stored in damp or cold conditions. Most of us that have done any amount of shooting will have encountered this at sometime. The usual cure is to put them in a warm(but not hot) environment in order for them to 'dry out'. The expert's opinion is that performance isn't greatly affected, unless, that is the problem is really excessive. In my experience the only time that it has really mattered is when the residue 'fouls up' my semi-auto'! Regards remmyman

On the assumption that we're talking about disciplines where you have the option as regards gunmount, my take on it simple. Ensure that your mount 'mirrors' the target presentation, I.E. for fast 'short window' targets,E.G fast quartering, trap type going away etc, shoot 'gun-up'. For targets that give you time,E.G long crossers, incomers and slow/high driven, shoot 'gun-down'(how far will be answered by a little experimentation) Targets that are hard to read, E.G battues are best shot 'gun-down' too, in my experience. I personally shoot 'gun-down' whenever possible as I find that the improved vision outweighs any disadvantage. At all times I let the target dictate the 'tempo/method' of the mount! Hope that this may help. Regards remmyman

For a comprehensive and diverse read I think that Gunmart Magazine takes some beating. Regards remmyman

I always used half choke when shooting skeet and I can assure you that even the second target of a pair on 4 was broken very nicely when using 9's. Regarding the argument of ping pong vs golf balls, if I was constantly relying on 2 pellets breaking the target then I would take myself off and get some much needed lessons. For me, the combination of half choke and 28gr 9's gave very positive breaks(when I done my bit) which inspired confidence, whilst also affording me a bit of 'wriggle room' on those days when I wasn't 'centering' stuff. Each to their own Regards remmyman

My last year or so shooting skeet saw me using steel 9's and I can assure you that they would break any skeet target emphatically. Regards remmyman
