Well phoned the Met FEO & he has cleared it & put it on the data base as cleared for rimfire. Phoned Essex firearms dept to see if they granted my variation for the two rimfire rifles & they have said it is on the data base but they still want to send an Essex Feo to check it starting to get on my wick now.

Enjoy. price wise can see it being about the same as here or not much in it. As for ft/lb's as you can walk in & buy a air rifle that shoots a 50cal bullet & will take down a deer with no need for checks or licence as the ATF don't consider them firearms.

That's what i thought, maybe because it was a grant of a new FAC is all i can think of. I phoned the Met guy today he said it may be down to him getting mixed up & not putting it down correctly, said he would check & phone me on Tuesday to sort it out.

Yes when i phoned them back as they had left a voice mail to ring them. The lady said she was dealing with my variation request but they had no record of the land being cleared. I told her that Essex had asked the Met to do a land check for the grant of my FAC for the S1 & that when i met him over there i had asked him if he would clear it for rimfire which he said he had no issue with that & would let Essex know. The phone went quite for a minute then she said we have no record of that so will need to be check by Essex. Which seems odd to me as the land comes under the Met which is why Essex wanted them to check it for grant. Might give the Met guy a ring to see if he did let them know. The land i want clearing is in Essex but falls under the Met for policing but i can also shoot on some land in Scotland.

So i put in for grant of FAC for a S1 shotgun which Essex wanted the land cleared which is not req for fac shotgun according to home office guide lines. Any way had to get the Met to clear it as falls under them met the FEO from the Met & asked him if he would clear it for 22lr/17hmr for rabbit shooting as well as S1 shotgun which he was fine with & said he would let Essex know. Essex granted me the FAC for a S1 shot gun so sent in a variation for 22lr & 17hmr last week. Had phone call from Essex this morning to say they had no record of the land being cleared for rimfire so for them to grant it i would need to have a different bit of ground or have it checked by Essex FEO, as one of their experienced FEO'S had googled it & would not be happy to grant rimfire on it (is about 10 acres ). So now have the ball ace of waiting for FEO to do visit even with the Met FEO giving it the ok when i was over there with him. As it happen i have some other ground i can shoot on in Scotland but trying to get the farmer to answer his phone to send me a perm letter is a nightmare as unless you owe him money he never answers but i want the ground down here cleared so i can control the rabbits.

Have loads of buzzards round near me in Essex which again is something you never saw a few years ago. I have only ever seen two kites down this way.

Well not bad for Essex renewal of SGC & grant of FAC shotgun dropped on the mat this morning. 11 weeks & this was slowed down by the Met as they had to check the land as was in their area also got him to clear it for 22lr/17hmr at the same time, so a happy camper. Now the pain of having to send it back as asked for it to be conditioned for clay shooting as well, which my feo said was not an issue but has not been put down. Also it has down for shooting vermin & ground game so if i want to shoot a fox i cant so will also ask them to add ALQ. May as well put in a 22lr & 17hmr as lot of rabbits over there & now it has been cleared .

And yet i know a few who their FEO has ok'ed 22 & 17 for fox. Don't you just love erm.

No need for anything bigger as Essex say 22 & 17 ok for fox & this bit of ground is only small & i have another perm that i will be asking for 243 on as has a fair few fox's on it & my mate shoots his on there. Will also be doing some paid stalking at some point this year.

Put in for grant of Fac with my SGC renewal in December with Essex but the Met is checking the land as fall's under them so more messing about. So will ask him about clearing it for 22lr/17hmr then i will ask Essex when the S1 shotgun is granted to add 22 & 17 as land has been cleared ( i hope) already for these.

That's what i thought, don't mind too much as will see if he will clear it for 22lr/17hmr for the rabbits & when the FAC for the S1 shotgun comes will put in for some rifles .

Yep, i have to see FEO on Monday to get some ground cleared for a FAC shotgun even though i use my three shot on it. And will be shooting the same shells just having more in the gun so can't see a need for it to have to be cleared. Only reason i can think of is having to have a named bit of ground for the grant of the FAC. I think they like to make things as much as pain in the rear as poss to put us off.

Got a text last week saying it was from DVLA saying they had been trying to get hold of me & this was my last reminder that i was due a refund for road tax & follow this link. No i don't think so. Then this morning swmbo asked if the car tax was due as she just got a text she's never tax'd a car in her life, told her it was a scam & to delete it. Hope no one has been done.
