As a dedicated Wildfowler' I have witnessed many Dawns breaking and never regretted one of them. But as the sun broke through the curtains this morning I found myself wishing I had of went to bed and had a lay on this morning rather than burning the midnight oil to Stay up and watch that dour spectacle of a fight. People who say this fight should have took place 5 or 6 yrs ago are so right. And the one who knows this the most is "Pick his fight Mayweather" ..!! We all know he is not renowned for taking chances. So disappointed in Pacmans approach to the fight' He fought it to suit Mayweather..I was sure Freddie roach would have had something up his sleeve to counteract what we knew Mayweather would bring, but he was one dimensional. Size and Mayweathers reach was obviously an issue for pacman' although he thought otherwise. Pacman is certainly not the warrior he once was' i was sure we would have seen glimpses of in this fight' but not a bit. A war it was not' hardly a mark on either ones faces. I think the judges got it bang on' it was hardly a difficult fight to judge and Mayweather clearly was the winner although in a predictable dour fashion. All the "Fenmen " in the Washlands of Eastern England With their Eel catching abilities Would of had some trouble Catching the slippery sucker that is Floyd Mayweather. Imagine Amir Khan being in there last night with his Size, Hand speed and explosive Combo's' whatever about a suspect chin' it would have made for a far more entertaining spectacle than what was witnessed lastnight. On a side not' I dont think Carl Frampton has any worries about Santa Cruz after what i seen lastnight. Frampton would have had that guy outa there in no time. I dont think Khan will get his Shot a Mayweather' Khan will in my opinion will beat Algieri and possibly get it on With Kell brook. I dont know much about this Thurman Guy who is also a possibility for Mayweathers last fight. And I lost a 20quid bet to my Nephew. -

As far as Im Concerned' there is not much to like about Mayweather..Cant dispute his abilities as Boxer and a master of his Craft' but likability is Zero for me. I cant call this fight' Mayweather will feel Pacmans power' but unless he catches him Flush' Mayweather will soak it up and get on with it.Shane Mosley caught him with a Humdinger that would have sent most to the canvas but mayweather stayed on his feet and went on to win. I woundnt worry about Manny running out of Steam' if he can do 12rounds with Tim Bradley "one of the hardest trainers out there" he can do 12 with Mayweather bar he doesnt get knocked out of Course. Gonna try and stream the fight in the morning. Cant wait. Might even say a prayer for a Manny Win. -
Thanks for the Comments Gents. To be honest I am not a big Crow shooter' and sometimes it does not sit well with me Shooting them this time of year' as I have a fondness for the Rooks but When the farmer phones It is a duty that has to be Done.Always good to get a few of the Hoodies out of the way though. I also dont advocate the taking of extreme shots at live Quarry' But I knew I had the right choking and shot to make the Kill. I find it always pays dividends to use some natural cover "in this case Gorse" on a Hide. Thanks again for your comments. SG Apoligies TightChoke' I deleted them lastnight after they only got two comments after a number of days.

How about a trip over to the Domician Republic or Haiti.? Beautiful Beaches, great weather..Kick back for awhile and then get out and mingle with the Locals. You wont find happier people and them with so little...Soon puts a perspective on Things..Well it did for me any how. I drew a little character in the boys school book and you would have thought he just got a Million pound.

Having forked out £30 on half a dozen new Fuds midweek' one took 28grms of Olympic blues at 30'ish yrds as a winged jackdaw was hopping his way off and he hopped in front of the fud as I finished him off. A few hours in the afternoon on newly Sown barley resulted in two Hooded crows "Greybacks as we call them locally..A few carrion crows which seem to becoming more common here and a few rooks and jackdaws. Shot of the day was the second Greyback which I managed to call with my own voice' he let out a croak of alarm as I showed myself and managed to jerk into the stiff breeze that had got up' I missed him with the first barrel and he was making his way off at speed left to right when I managed to track him and folded him stone dead well out. I stepped it out from the hide and it was just shy of 70yrds although the shot was actually more at 60 yrds. I was using Olympic blues 7 and a halves in the bottom barrel and Eley Grand Prix 32grms in fibre wad in the top with both tubes choked half.

I nearly Started a War on another forum' When I Challenged people about the use of the Word Shottie or Shotty' and asked where they Bad boy gangsta's..! I cant stand the Word and if you think about it' It is just as easy to type Shotgun as Shottie as they both have the same number of letters..!! I am not a Snob in any shape form or fashion' possibly it is the traditionalist in me when it Comes to Shooting.

Ollie, you could fill a page of "IF only's" after yesterday..If Sexton had of converted his missed conversions...If the dreadful kicking of the French had off been better' ect ect then it would not have been such a tense a finish. The biased reporting always Spoils great Sporting events and it is not just the BBC who are Guilty of this..RTE and the Americans When commentating on a Home fighter are up there with the worst offenders when it comes to Boxing. Its not like me to spend most of the day inside watching Telly' but I have no regrets about doing just that yesterday. The England V France Game was an amazing finale to the tournament yesterday' When the English had to throw caution to the wind' look what fantastic rugby can be played. Robshaw'Ford and Brown I thought where outstanding' particularly Ford' Both in open play and his Kicking was Flawless. England have a young team and can only get better from here on in. I think we have to be very thankful for the French effort yesterday. They where not playing for the Championship and could easily have dropped their heads' but they kept fighting right until the end. The Welsh' done what they had to Do.. Then the Irish done what was required of them..And the English where only a matter of meters away from doing what was required of them. Pleased Paul O' Connel got a try yesterday and also got to lift the Trophy on his last 6 nations tournament . Now its over to the Women who are playing Scotland at 13;00 ' But i cant see them making up the Deficit on the French' but then again you never know.

What a Quality game of rugby..!! Great effort from the English' but also from France. Have to say the ref was brilliant and made some very good calls. Not much in after all but dont think anyone will begrudge the Irish the championship. Great day of rugby and Well Done all teams for giving us such great entertainment. Well Done the men in Green. Champions again.

Gaby is not as chirpy now in her interviews. Here she goes' Scotland where disappointing..blah blah I watch the games on RTE but listen to some off the interviews on BBC. Last week before the Welsh game it was all about Irelands unattractive Kicking game and Shameful interview Questions to the Irish players but when the Welsh won she was all Smiles and no mention of the Kicking and was more interested in the fact that England where back in contention..I have nothing against England and hope they put up a good showing against the French and make it a nail biter "Although of Course I hope they dont actually score the required points needed" But it is the Biased presenting and patronizing interviews that gets my back up. Well done Ireland' hopefully done enough to Clinch the championship. No Trophy handed out as yet' over to you England
-
. Perhaps the Scots will let us thump them so the English don't win it Lets hope that is now the case After that great performance by Wales. Its looking like Wales or Ireland for the championship now given the Opposition of Both Ireland and England. Who knows after that performance by Wales..Should be interesting.

Great Job' nice looking pies and I love the little Conney decorations on top. One thing I would do with this recipe and would do with all Pies is to Blind bake the Raw pastry before adding the filling. Other than that ' top job -
The pigeon Shooter by John Batley has plenty of useful advice for the newbie.

There goes the Slam Great game of Rugby to watch.. The Welsh defence Take a bow .better team won. Deep down I knew it' As i opened the blinds this morning all I could see was Blooming Daffodils standing tall and proud in the garden

Welsh came out all Guns blazing' as would be expected and seems everything was going their way...Halfpenny is well up for it today. Irish settling a bit now and its sett up for a great second half. . Come on the Men in Green.
-
No score predictions from myself today' other than hoping for an Irish win to keep the slam dream alive. The Welsh with home Advantage should count for Something but with a fully fit Irish Squad including Heaslip.. All it is gonna take is Everthing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XaAC3YYN58

Seem's your Sorted with your Knifes' but will mention these. Im a bit of a Foodie and would love one of these' but I could not justify the price or could i afford one' but they look pretty special. I dont know if anyone is watching the river cottage with the Australian Guy...On one episode he went to a Black Smith who knocked him up a very Special looking Chef's knife. I done some online hunting for the guy and found this' he also made one for HFW. Maybe Old farrier could try his hand at these: http://www.mothermountainforge.com/gallery/knives/kitchen

Hello Alan, I' (Unlike yourself "Who is a true Rugby man") Only take an interest in the 6 nations Tournament. I have been following it with interest for a Number of years now. I have watched all games with interest this year and made my predication based on what i have Seen. I had us down for a couple of tries Yesterday' with the English Defence not looking so Solid as previous years' and was also confident that we could Stop the English from Scoring any. Two tries with Successful Conversions is as you will know would have resulted in 16 points and I had us down for 3 penalty Kicks and the English 4. It didnt exactly work out that way' But had Sexton and ford converted there two missed kicks it would not have been to far away As you say Heroes all over the field yesterday and Im sure their will be Some sore and bruised bodies Today. One of my favourite players to watch and is often an unsung Hero for the Irish is Rob Kearney' I love it when he boots that big old leather egg up into the Air and sets off in pursuit and and catches it on a fair percentage of occasions. Like anything that comes off Sextons boot' they are things of beauty to Watch. Im sure the Welsh at Cardiff will be a very tough test and will have every intent as you say to be party poopers. But the Irish will be going there with nothing but a win on there minds .Should be another great tussle. And also a mention for the Irish ladies who beat the World Champions. A couple of the Girls live local to myself. Well down.

Not so funny Now i bet..!!

I wont Gloat to Much' unlucky England' Was Irelands day, great hard fought game to watch.
-
Here we Go..Is it gonna be "Swing Low" or "low lay" that echoes around the Aviva Stadium..? My predication is Ireland 25 England 12. Come on Ireland.

Well Done Carl Frampton. Have to say it was a hugely Disappointing Fight after all the hype. Avalos' no defence,no sharpness and beaten to the punch even with a Significant reach advantage. As they say' you only can fight what is put in front of you and Frampton Done exactly that. Frampton v Scott Quigg' Now that Should be a better fight with two little warriors.
