Its already alive for much of what we do. I only have to think of something and I get an advert for one face.
-
Why do you think that? If you have seen the list of bills posted by labour today you will have been impressed by the volume of work it represents. Much of the stuff most (even here) would agree with. Sue Gray will have been instrumental in pulling that together. It's an astonishing piece of work.

Good for you. I do lots of stuff for the local wildlife trust here with Adder and Bat counts. It's good to see hunters working on conservation.
-
Brilliant. Why do you do monitor the nests?

This is why we must beef up the processing. The Tories did some good work with Albania and the automatic return, its the sort of approach we need more of.

I was just coming to the same conclusion. Even if they drew fully on NHS (thats unlikely with the demographic) it would only be £3500 per annum. Flight tickets and bribe payments to Rwanda will no doubt have bumped up the cost for those in the process. There are only around 1500 captured in the illegal working visits program per annum.

I guess some wont be net contributors but unlikely to be most. Any data? Yep the services and the housing can't cope because its been left to fester. Most of the ex EU community i know travel back to the EU for medical and dental as it's so much better. Line up needs to learn fast thats for sure. Blaming the Tories for leaving no money maxing the credit card and leaving everything broken would be a fair shout. Good move today on the Budget responsibility bill. Make sure the Tory budget busters can't destroy the economy again. Lots of legislative proposals, not so much in the way of spending. Tax and spending comes later through spending and budget review. I think we can all agree there is some good stuff in the list. Budget responsiblity, smoking bill (Tories could not get it done), pension schemes bill (another Tory proposal not delivered), Arbitration bill, Crown estate bill (at last), victims courts and protection bill. Good start all round lets hope they continue.

So if as we suspect it includes EU migrants many of which will be long established the figure of 700k looks very low. Your right we should be training unfortunately it was not in the Tory plan. As a result we are short of labour in pretty much every trade every profession. Here is a list drawn up by the Tories.https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/skilled-worker-visa-eligible-occupations/skilled-worker-visa-eligible-occupations-and-codes I think the difference now is the current govt is trying to do something, on training, on skills, on migration, rather than just bleat. Trouble is they have to fix prisons, doctors pay, railways, water companies, sewage, planning, energy, housing, education, health (and anything else left untouched for the last 14 years) at the same time as bank account is empty and the credit card has been declined.

Still in the program.

If the 700k is correct what is it's make up? If 30k to 50k come on small boats where are the rest from? It looks to me that a large number of that figure might be EU consolidations from the last 20 years or so? Where are students? If 700k is correct the small boat arrivals look almost insignificant. UK economy upto now has relied upon population growth to run. If the population is in decline and we don't have migration then we have to try something different. Following Brexit the UK has faced a severe labour shortage. As we accept more arrivals from the third world i guess its reasonable to assume that they are likely to arrive with a larger family base. One advantage perhaps for those from Europe, given the proximity of geography and economy, a larger number of them were likely to return to their country of birth. With Luck the current government will be able to make different arrangements with the EU. Academic standard alignment (in the plan) would be a very useful starting point that could give us more access for doctors and dentists.

We have a million children living in poverty do you think it has anything to do with the rather ridiculous govt that has been in power for the last 14 years? We are a small island and the economy here is in sharp decline. If we can improve the economy we will have a little more to tackle the other challenges. Unfortunately Brexit took a further 4% out of our ailing economy. Perhaps a way forward would be to improve our marketing to potential migrants to let them know the place is not as wonderful as they might think. 😁

Not sure where the faceless bit comes from. If that's right then these figures from the Mail are completely distorted and the reporting does not reflect the reality of the situation.
-
Not so far off now at 72 MP's to the Tories 121. Interesting to see these old threads rise from the dead. Student fees have currently been held since 2017 and are unsustainable for some Universities.
-
But if the figures include 2m to 4m (?) that were already here and simply naturalised (if thats the word?) from the EU then the figures would look significantly different. The headline says came here but are they largely registrations? Many of these could well have been here for the last 20 years.
-
It would be interesting to understand the figures better. It looks like a huge increase in net migration post Brexit. At a time control has apparently shifted to the UK. I wonder if that's correct? Where are those that sought settled status or citizenship, post Brexit represented? That would likely account a significant element of the figures.

@JohnfromUK@udderlyoffroad Its pretty impressive stuff 👍 If I was at home more i would definitely be on the energy efficient road. I have solar pv system on my boat and managing power use and generation is a constant juggling act. Always playing with the numbers 🙂

Thats interesting, never heard of such a thing. Can you notice a significant difference? How does it work? Do you need to run it for a long time?

I think Vance's comments on trump as Hitler can be forgotten I am sure Lammy's indiscretions will pale. After what Vance has said about the UK today / yesterday I think we have far more to be concerned about. The Maga crowd do seem to be from the edges of civilisation.

He held his hands up. They were collected and after investigation no charges. Either way nothing to do with Trump. Trump had stuff in public places, showed it to others, hid stuff from the authorities, lied about it all, tried to obstruct justice. They have him bang to rights.

Incredible. It just shows what can be achieved. It's too easy to reach for the chemicals. Not on that scale but here I have a meadow not touched since it was ridge and furrow cultivated in the middle ages and then maybe 150 years ago as an orchard (trees are now long gone). It provides endless interest when allowed to grow wild. The barn owls love it.
-
Maybe. I won't support an enemy of the state where I have a choice.
-
Whats that got to do with anything 🤣 Not only did Trump have lots of the stuff hanging around, he showed it to others and then tried to hide it. He is a grade A I accept that he was right when he said Trump was the US Hitler. His comments on the UK just demonstrate what a wombat he is. Where do these low life's come from? How can they filter to the top? I don't remember Biden being so crass with his comments about an ally.
-
🥺 thought it might be. I won't buy Chinese if I have a choice.
-
🤣 please. Trump and now Vance what a dream team. What's he think of the special relationship 🤔
