  1. Despite the Tories trying to buy votes by reneging on environmental standards the residents of our capital saw through the pretenders. Sadiq Khan well done on your third term.

    Local elections

They can't. All as they can do is stop the slide into the abyss. We simply don't have sufficient productivity or people to support our expectations. The required radical agenda is inedible to the electorate and our FPP system does not allow for consensus politics.

Now retired. Labour will not have funds to do anything much. The country is mortgaged to the hilt, debt levels are the highest since the 60's. Tax is currently the highest on record. The pound has deteriorated significantly since Brexit (17%). The Truss budget has increased the UK borrowing costs. What ever way you look at it the outlook is pretty gloomy. This Tory regime will not even have the courtesy to leave a note.

It's the only way we get back to the middle. Rapist, adulterous Donald Von ****zinpantz has no idea what he is saying.

I think that's going back a bit? This from 2023 Speaking ahead of the Labour Party conference, he admitted that he "can't pretend" there are not challenges in his relationship with the Welsh Labour government. Refreshingly honest. Many thought Truss was how the Tories should be.

Yep it's part of the process of moving responsibility to local govt without proper funding. Underfunding of everything and the ultra high tax burden will be a hallmark of this regime. Same is often said of both sides of the political divide. Labour bowing to the Unions and the Tories bowing to Russia and big business. That said at least Starmers team have a plan. Unlike the current regime ?
  7. Great to see the Tories getting a good beating in the local election. I can't understand why they are even polling the numbers they are. Still it's good news lets hope the trend continues and the Tories get fully trounced in the forthcoming general.
  8. My old Bristol 12b club had great support from BASC for setting up constitution and rules system. Our view was if you believe in the sport you need someone to fight your corner with govt and its agencies. Bringing new blood into the sport is critical as I look around at a largely old age group of participants.
  9. There are so many juveniles on here. Can we not just focus on and discuss the subject matter. For those unable to perhaps they either grow up or find another forum more suited to their age range.

They have asked to align with NATO to break away from the axis of evil 😁 BRIKS. https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/news_224873.htm

This. Nice to see Sunak commit foward spending for Labour. I hope spending decisions are not left to the MOD the last thing we need is more of the same Shame nether party can agree to the EU reciprocal uni education program. Best to build barriers and mistrust between countries. It all helps the war budget. Not going to help them join NATO is it.
  12. It's a sail boat so fuel is not a big cost. The last fill was around £400 and only 20% was tax free. It saved me around £100.
  13. This ^^^^ I can use it in my boat for heating but not propulsion. I need receipts if I take it to Europe as they are not allowed to use it.
  14. I struggle to understand how the bottle recycling scheme failed to work. At the same time Japan are selling recycled nappies we are unable to recycle a glass bottle. ?
  15. Particularly not delivering on promises.
  16. It's called the ballot box. I heard a review of Scotlands programme of climate change initiatives on the radio this week. It sounded pretty impressive. Did I hear free / discounted travel for under 21 year old?
  17. Funnily enough my cocker has the same habit. I make a point of picking up a few at random and it's stopped him running in.
  18. In my Tikka I am loading 50g vmax with an on the limit charge. Awesome for everything 😉
  19. Far from an expert but i remember something about pigeons not seeing colours the way that we do? The 'UVision Decoy Paint' from Sillosocks replicates how birds see colour. Many types of bird feathers reflect UV and contribute to the natural colour of the bird (though we cannot see it).
  20. I don't recall a tea cup but he was at least bordering on the eccentric. I have met Hague and worked with lots of politicians. There are a few that stand out 😁
  21. I was lucky enough to have dinner with Tony Benn and he gave me a copy of his book 'Dare to be a Daniel', what a fascinating individual. He had met and knew almost every big name leader in the world and has some great stories to tell. He insisted on running a conversation recorder during dinner. Never had much time for him as a politician but the evening was quite something.
  22. 🤣 I reckon your right. Fingers crossed it will be at least 4 years before hard left move back in to labour by which time we will have New Tories knocking on the door. I will settle for the world not going up in flames just now.
