Hackney? 🤣 FCAL Get your head out your dark spot. Liz Truss with her degree trashed the economy so hard that we are all still paying for it. So so much better than the dysfunctional crock of we had before. There is so much garbage on here from those that put the garbage in power last time.
-
What has? The prep has already been paid for. Spot on. Food banks cost of living, the cost of energy. Rwanda too what a total p in a brewery that was. Baroness many what's her face, the decoration of no 10. So so much waste we have forgotten half of it. The last 14 years have been squandered. The last 5 years must rate as one of the worst government periods ever. Every measure worse off. Even life expectancy has declined.
-
Hardly. They are ready to go. So much prep. I think it likely they could get a second term whatever. For the first time right of centre vote is split with reform. What's right with it? Add in tax receipts to expenditure, lack of infrastructure investment. Everything is wrong with it. https://obr.uk/forecasts-in-depth/the-economy-forecast/brexit-analysis/#assumptions

They won't do it in one. Everything is a mess. The Tories achieved less than zero in 14years and trashed everything. Every service, every part of the economy, crime, prisons roads, schools, simply everything. I don't envy labour dealing with this hospital pass. Starter for ten must be higher public standards. Hard to see how the Tories can come back ,now their base is divided, in a term so labour may get an extension. The test will be holding it together.
-
Yep. It can also lead to consensus politics and long term planning. That's not possible under fpp.
-
Depends on how it's set up. For sure it would better reflect the choice of voters. Hopefully Labour can start with reform of the Lords (not holding my breath) as proposed.

I have long said PR is the way forward. We desperately need economic growth and being knee capped by Brexit is not helping. Starmers plan to get a better deal with EU is making the right noises but what chance is there? He has made some pretty strong claims on joining and customs union etc. Going flat out for growth outside the EU with incentives and tax benefits is likely to make alignment issues worse rather than better. Greater fiscal control and reporting through the OBR will make a difference for confidence. Training and education reform will take at least three terms. All looks good but like any good football manager can he make it happen fast enough?
-
This. ^^^^ Reservations a plenty. The economy is trashed. 🤞 economic strategy. Surprises me that greens (whilst they have done better) don't have a much bigger share of the vote. Now Tory re think and reposition. 'Bald men fighting over a comb'.
-
If the polls are correct you have to respect the work that Starmer has done to transform Labour. At the same time despair at the mess that the Tories have made of the last 14 years that put him there. Let's hope he can deliver.

Fuel escalator gets my vote every time. Unfortunately no vote for me.

Russia looked to join NATO but as a criminal state it could not survive the membership hurdles. It currently shares a maritime border with the US. Putin cannot have success on his doorstep. He needs the conflict to survive. The only one to apologise is Putin. His time will come We all want it to stop and stopping it is in the gift of Putin. With Trump on the horizon that looks an unlikely scenario just now.
-
Dozens of Facebook sites maybe. With Russia we have a whole industry of bots. The parties may make remarks about each other but much of the electorate is more reserved in its judgement. Many have to be as they continually review voting position moving between parties. Its only those with a dogmatic approach to decision making that are unable to evaluate different propositions. The parties today are not what they were 5 years ago. They are not what they were 20 years ago.
-
Wow. That's total tosh. If Ukraine wants to join NATO it's a matter for Ukraine and NATO. The war is nothing to do with NATO. Trump and Farage are simply Putin apologists. What's in it for the west? Preservation of freedoms and our way of life. Killing UK citizens. Poisoning UK residents with nerve agent. Arson attacks. Attacks on IT networks. Interference in Politics. Its all part of the Putin playback. If Ukraine falls then so does Taiwan.

It has to be Henry's at the lizard. http://www.henryscampsite.co.uk/ It's amazing pitching between the palms. Music rooms, camp fire pitches, elevated wooden Thai style shelters, impromptu music. It's simply an amazing stay.
-
Does not surprise me at all. We are effectively at war with Russia even if some don't recognise it. Appeasers like Trump and Farage play straight into his hands.
-
👍 of course it did. 🤣 Have a look at who is on the payroll.
-
Yep it works for either extreme of the political spectrum. In 2020 Putin signed presidential imunity law. In 2024 Trump pushes through presidential imunity law. Mad I agree but we can both see where this is going.

😁 I don't see common standards and decent trading policy that can influence world trade to be lefty nonsense. Its common sense trade that works towards a level playing field, but I know what you mean. Key is to retain democracy. The US with the current supreme Court ruling has just lost it. Authoritarian right wing politics tends to move in that direction. Leave organisations that you cannot control, restrict freedom of speech, control the judiciary. Orban leads and le Penn and Farage follow? I hope not but the play book is there.
-
Now that sounds pretty special.
-
Yes. Bang on. The kremlin funded Brexit misinfo big time. They are undoubtedly funding directly anything that can break western cohesion. Be it immigration and ECHR or funding for Nato or farmers on the polish border, Trump with agenda 25 or Orban, or Reform. Over 1m posts and tweets a day by russian bots. It's their most effective weapon to win in Ukraine.
-
It does not sound like a Biden act to me but then again maybe he will. Ruling was only just made and it looks like a get out of jail card for Trump but not his mates. All as Trump needs now is to win in Nov and he ceasar. Total madness.
-
Biden or the next opposition. Its clear from the supreme court opposition that any killing of anyone by the president as official business ( using seal teams was the example given by the court) would be legit. It's a ruling waiting for the US version of Putin to take advantage of it.
-
Either way with the supreme Court ruling today Trump as president can take out Biden and be immune from prosecution.
