Yes they are quieter with all ammo but best with subsonics. It has full choke. good as a tool, not a favorite on mine, as the barrel is heavy, and only single shot.

Have a look on the US ebay I have just got 2 Outers bipods 13-24" for under £60 for the two inc P&P. They are Identical to Harris. avoid any thing that clips to the barrel as it will screw the acuracy

Make sure you are clear in your mind about safety. make sure you can demonstrate good backstops. Know the danger areas such as telling the FO " I wont be shooting here because there is nothing to stop a bullet/ricochet from hitting a person on this footpath/road" and "this will be the direction i will shoot in as stray bullets will go into this bank". If he knows you think like this there is more chance of getting one.

The firearms officer comes to your house, you convince him that you need one, he checks your security. He will also make sure you dont have a police record. It seemed the same as getting a shotgun cert. He will also make sure you understant safety such as backstops, ricochets, etc.

I use 10 shells and 10 flexicoys. No problems. Yesterday I tried a new technique..... NO HIDE. I had a camo jacket on, light trousers to mach the dead scrub. But the most important bit a full balaclava (terorist style) and realtree gloves. I only did this for an hour, but not 1 bird jinked even when I stood up to shoot. I was sitting on a fallen ivy coverd tree. I'm definitly going to use the balaclava in the hide.

I make my own, just as I want them. 32g 7 shot about 1150ft/s loads of pattern and light on the sholder. But the real fun ones are Gamebore Black powder.

If you have a fair bit of land to shoot on its easy round here. But you should use the gun best suted to the animal you wish to shoot, with safety in mind. If that means an FAC gun then thats the way to go.

I havent done to badly, when the freezer runs a bit low she reminds me to go and shoot somthing. (as long as I dont tell her how much the guns cost)

I use a Light force and they are great (I dont get a blind spot) They will focus from a beam to wind angle. DONT USE WET BATTERES the acid will spill and it will eat through any fabric and you. I use one 7 ah battery and it goes all night (I keep mine off untill I sweep and shoot) use a head mounted light for picking up. For a cheap lamp go to B&Q or the like they do some realy good ones for a few quid.

Yep! Deben are fast. I often buy things on line from them as by the time I get time to pop to the gun shop it would have been deliverd from deben. Its a sham they dont do 223 ammo boxes.

The hornet is fun and cheap to feed but the bullets drop. A 222 or 223 are a lot flater shooting. Ammo is easyer to find in 222/223 and tends to be cheaper. The guns are the same price.

Nothing is as good as lead. Steel can wreck barrels if not loaded properly in a cup shaped wad and is very light (will go throughno more than 1/2 choke). Tungstan matrix and bismuth are better. Tin is like soft steel and is kind to barrels. Heavy shot is hard like steel but heaver than lead but very expensive. Making the most of a bad job I would go with TM or Bismuth. I am told that gold is even better than lead, but they dont have them at my local shop

He lets us use a few acres of setaside that is waterlogged. But I am sure he would let us use any bit of land as long as he gets his fees!
