Black powder revolvers are fine in this country, just about everyone in our club has at least one Scottie
-
Yup love mine as well, use it for clays and slugs on targets Scottie

Restoring 410 case mouths
scottie2345 replied to sitsinhedges's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
We shall have to meet up at Kibworth and shoot a few, I can bring my .410 Scottie -
I shot slugs out of mine, I use 70 grains of medium black (kranks) and roll crimp, not really tried loading shot into a cartridge, did once try a round of clays with a flintlock brown bess, but thats another story 🙂took ages between clays to reload, but that was 70 grains of black with 28g of no 7 shot. I have been looking for ages for a copy of "climbing the north face of the .410" seems to have long disappeared, does anyone have a copy for sale at sensible money or lend me for a quick read, particularly interested in the section on slugs. Thanks Scottie

I am in Leics, the team there are awesome, Put in for my renewal 2 weeks ago, I received a letter from the Docs yesterday demanding £48 blackmail money, I emailed firearms this morning at 06.30 and they called me back at 07.50, I was mighty impressed, especially when they said not to pay it, the FEO will want me to sign a statement when he calls, that was it, simples 🙂 Scottie

I shoot there most weeks, and the new owners have hit the ground running starting to smarten the place up. Scottie -
Cheap semi-auto - Hatsan or Armsan or ???
scottie2345 replied to Granett's topic in Guns & Equipment
I have/use quality guns, but somehow, I do much better with my Armsan, never goes wrong, the thing just works -
Love mine, I cannot think of a single time that it has failed to feed, and I am not the most scrupulous at cleaning,

Review Of The Chiappa 1887 Lever-Action Shotgun

Love the wobbly chair :-) -
I went to Micks, he had a couple of hammer guns for me to ponder on, but I dad come away with a nice AYA for £75, dare anybody to go there and try not to buy something :-) Richard
-
Good call, my last SxS came from him :-) I know not to get hung on chokes, but I do, it is a head thing< i mainly shoot clays, so dropping stone dead is not really an issue just break the little blighters :-) Richard
-
The shooting show is coming up, so I shall perhaps have a look there at what is around, maybe I just need to factor in having the chokes opened up. Richard
-
I can see a english gun is better bet really, but I worry about condition, nitro, and choke, please allay me :-)
-
The Huglos are about £750, I like the notion of a old english gun, But i would want something nitro proofed, but fairly open chokes 1/4 and 1/4 would be nice, hence I see that with multichoke, as an aside I dont have a problem with Turkish guns as one of my guns is the Armsan A620, flawless bit of kit Richard
-
I love hammer guns and I so fancy one for clays, weird i know, but of course everything I see is fixed choke and usually tight at that, I would prefer something more open, I realise I could have them opened up, I have a old beater SxS from wabbitbosher, just fancy something a bit better I have seen the Huglu 201 with multichoke and hammers, and it seems to fit the bill, Thoughts? http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/reviews/shotgun/huglu-201hrz-hammergun Thanks Richard
-
I have fancied one as well, somebody in our club has one and he likes his, does anyone so a clipon stock for it, similar to a old colt ? might make it a bit more accurate. Scottie

Wow, that is not how I was expecting it to come out, looks fantastic Scottie

As above what I use, works fine

Huge thumbs up for Leics from me, variations usually take 3-4 days, I read with horror about some forces, I have friends in Northants seems to be 6 months to do anything!! Scottie

Just like to mention Leicestershire, Posted mine and my sons on Monday for adding a section 58 to section 1plus a few other changes, back on Saturday morning, they ALWAYS me, I dont understand how the they think that delaying proceedings gives anything but a negative view of the police!! Scottie
