  1. Cheers Scully, I'm of the same opinion as yourself but always remember a wise old man telling me; one man doesn't know everything, so ask if your unsure
  2. Thanks and just read through it and non the wiser so better ask the police in case my cabinet is the wrong colour
  3. Hi all I'm looking for some advice before I 'poke the bear' if I may. I've looked online but can't find the answer, so thought I'd get a consensus of opinion from the trusty PW's before I ask Lancs firearms on how many shotguns can we hold, which must have something to do with the size of cabinet we all have. I had a cabinet with 3 slots for 3 guns but could easily fit a 410 in there also, so is it a matter of how many you can jam in there and still lock it? Can I bolt another 3 gun cabinet in next to it and thus have 6 guns? Or do I have to ask permission if I want more than 3 as that's the safe that was inspected? Thanks in advance lads
  4. Thanks lads, some interesting points raised
  5. Hi all and hope everyone has had a good season. I'm keen to breed sone ducks on my dyke and have looked at the BASC site on how to make duck tubes and while I'm sure they work I'm thinking of numbers and going to have to make a lot of tubes, so thought of building a breeding pen protected from fox providing a safe haven so they can build their own nests or even spreading hay and straw along the dyke banks. I'm sure some PW members have had similar ideas and some have had success stories and maybe they would like to educate me on the correct method to have a go? Thanks in advance
  6. Its a minefield and you just have to spend a rainy morning or afternoon hunting around. If you haven't already play around with all the questions not just the mileage, ie. using your vehicle at peak times, where it is parked through the day/night, whether you need legal/windscreen cover etc etc etc. Good luck but you still looking at 30% ++ on last years premium for sure
  7. There is defiantly this going on as you say now you mention it; also when gorgeous George from stonedead/proper cartridges got closed down there was a lot of his stock getting sold around here so guess people bought cheap and filled their boots when the opportunity was there. For anyone who is interested, those Eley pro eco wad carts are hard hitting for sure
  8. I know of 1 shoot and its repeated in most pre shoot speeches but never ever enforced. Like yourself I'm always interested what people have used when we tidy up and this year have seen far more lead getting used than previous years
  9. Just to put a curve ball in, I see week in and week out steel getting used more and more and IMHO there are way way more pricked birds at the end of a shoot than ever before, which in turn has to be financially and morally factored in

    Really?

Probably insurance and other business costs the UK imposes
  11. I'll give it a spin next time, cheers
  12. Evening all, I normally slice and pan fry teal with plenty black pepper and sometimes add a few chilly flakes and serve with a creamy mushroom rissotto but getting bored and my freezer is filling up so was going to treat the lads on Saturday, how does everyone else cook them while keeping it simple? Cheers
  13. I can't ID it for you but you could always solder it, job done
  14. Homemade is far more better than eating out brekfast these days, however, Midland hotel in Manchester does very nice eggs benedict for a £tenna They sell canny fresh sausages in their shop, but ain;t cheap but good sized bangers
  15. Aldi thick cut in a black bag, they might be steak chips I can't remember but they are the dearest ones they sell and are spot on
  16. Afternoon all After shooting last week, I brought home the teal to breast out and noticed all the females were far more fatty than the males. Is this in preperation for breeding season or are the girls just more greedy? I can't say I've ever noticed before but thought someone on here may already know the answer. Cheers
  17. I'm after a pocket sized catapult yet a powerfull one but when I search the choices are enourmous and obviously the power comes from a quality band, can anyone suggest one for me please? Thanks in advance
  18. Depends what you like normally but above are a few good options to go for, however, if you pour it into a decanter first it generally improves most wines regardless of price; enjoy and don't run out. Merry Xmas
  19. 1st central have an unique way of doing business which can be frustrating at times ( example they don't make it easy ( but do-able ) to contact them ) but they are competitive and have weight in an argument the unlikely event of a claim.
  20. Best thing to do is Google your make & model of phone + text size settings and you will find a youtube video or a help website with the text version of what you need to do
  21. Fantastic answers lads and think you have all covered everything I considered and some, think it will be a tourer in all honesty.
