  1. I think your gallons are smaller than ours, but we pay nearly £9 a gallon for our gas, our cheapest cartridges are about £25 a hundred, milk £2.70 a gallon, eggs about £2.20 a dozen.your bread may be a bit dearer than ours here!
  2. I have just been out for a bit of shopping, they tell us inflation is 9%,when everything in the shop is 10-25% up and changing every visit. Petrol now £8.63 a gallon, this time last year was £5.86 over 47% up,and it’s not even E5 as it was last year! I wonder what rise they will give the pensioners and others next April? Another measly 3.1%?
  3. When you were away for a week did you switch off the quooker water heater? They are expensive at keeping a few litres at boiling point! I only have a 2 bedroom house of 600 square feet, but my average daily electricity use is 3.8 kw/h,about £1. Sounds like you have things running somewhere all the time, switch everything off that you can think of and watch if the meter still moves.
  4. It depends on how quick you take your shots, they leave the trap at 16 yards,a fast shooter will get the first barrel off at 25 yards, and quarter choke is enough, most are a bit slower and let the clay get to over 30 yards, then an edge on target would be better with half,so in my opinion half and full would be the best overall with 30 or 32” barrels.
  5. Looks a good buy for anyone with the license! If no luck on here try the airgun forum, but not allowed to be advertised in both places..
  6. The coins recently advertised are mostly just plated gold and overpriced, and the small quarter sovereigns etc are also expensive,a full sovereign is currently worth £348 and reached a peak this year at £366.They are 91.7% pure gold and weigh 7.98 grams. There are usually plenty for sale on eBay but expect to pay about 10% above the gold value.
  7. Having seen the virtual removal of NHS dentistry, this extremely long waiting list and doctors refusing to see patients is the next step in the demise of NHS care in general and forcing people to pay or suffer pain and ultimately die!
  8. Webley single from 1970. 30inch barrel,23 thou choke.Blueing and wood is very good, not much use over the years.17 number4 cartridges included. £70 collected with SGC.Neath South WalesSGC..
  9. The government won’t penalise having savings if claiming working tax credits or child tax credits because they aren’t means tested! Someone can have unlimited savings and investments, even own second properties outright yet still get government cash top ups for working part time.I know two cases where this is true, one family is worth about a million, and still gets child tax credits every 4 weeks! Unbelievable but true..
  10. Yes it was an over reaction in so many ways, and most over the public just swallowed it all, took their jabs like obedient children, was it all a cover for what’s happening now, massive inflation and the big reset?
  11. Yes,no doubt the councils will raise the council tax a lot over the next few years, and our £150 will disappear!
  12. It is ridiculous giving an extra £650 to people on working tax credits. My brother for example, works 18 hours for £180,wife not wanting to work, they claim working tax credits as they have for about 20 years. This benefit is not means tested,so despite owning an expensive property and having about £180,000 savings they can still get the extra money every 4 weeks, the less hours worked means more cash from the government! Even got a new gas boiler and all new radiators fitted free of charge too. The £400 will be paid to your energy supplier in 6 monthly instalments from October credited to everyone’s bills.
  13. Actually it could have been, my employer asked everyone the question whether to prefer working or take furlough, then gave those who wanted 4 weeks off at 80% pay,
  14. There are possibly some videos on this on Utube, the barrel is removed and a bar of suitable thickness is used as a lever to unscrew the spring guide from the body. This is usually very tight and can be almost impossible to move especially on the alloy Mk2 Premier. But if it is unscrewed the spring and piston can be removed.
  15. Yes please,I enjoy using a side by side sometimes,I have a Clarbrough and Johnstone Sidelock hammerless from approximately 1895,and a Spanish 27 1/2 inch.
  16. If I were wanting to sell this I would start at £250,and see what happens. There isn’t a great demand for second hand shotguns and prices are lower than ever it seems. At an auction at Pyles of Hatherleigh in April a Lamber over under with 5 chokes made £66 only, and some side by sides were £12 or less. The auction results are still online.
  17. I saw one on Guntrader for £450,I believe they are old now,so parts would not be available unfortunately. It’s a case of just how much a buyer is willing to pay.
  18. I think photos help in trying to value any gun, especially where any damage is. In perfect condition most sell at around 66% of new price.
  19. Ok thanks for the advice, will give it more time!
  20. No interest,so please remove the ad ! Thank you!

  22. Not a nice bloke at school in the early 70’s, rather a big head, and too handy with his fist!
  23. I used to buy Richardson’s Style cartridges from Halesworth as a 15 year old in 1972,could only afford 25 at a time, but cost £1 then, when Eley Grand Prix were £1.15.
