  1. Going on my first game shoot in January but don't know what load to use, I have a 12 guage but need some advise as to the specific load to use for partridge and pheasant as I am very new to the sport, any advice would be greatly appreciated Ps. Any general advise would also be welcome
  2. As time passes we as a community/sport must engage with the younger generation in order to maintain our sport/culture. With pressures from Government mounting and new bans/disruptive legislation coming into force (steel) the cost of shooting is only rising, at what point do we blink? 40-45p a clay, £220+ 1000 (lead, fibre, entry level cartridges), £80+ for beginner 1hr coaching (+ cartridges and clays) The sport feels somewhat reserved for those who can afford to pay the fees or for the few who are lucky to carry natural talent and become sponsored. I would like to ask what people's thoughts are on this matter and how they believe as a community we can make shooting more accessible? I personally belive it to be willfully ignorant of us to say "if you can't afford it don't shoot". Thank you in advance.

  4. As the title says we are a small DIY shoot in the Thornbury area of Gloucestershire. We have a couple of spaces for the forth coming season. First and foremost I can not stress how important the DIY part of the add is you get out what you put in. 500 approx birds put down in 2 pens in 2 woods we shoot every other week from mid October so you get about 10 shoots. Cost for the last couple of seasons has been £425 but this may change depending on price of birds and corn etc. Please pm me for more details and to arrange an informal meeting with some of the guns cheers Gary

  6. Hi i recently moved to cornwall based in portmellon. I come from a shooting background within surrey but love the outdoors and the sea and so made the move to Cornwall. I’m finding it very difficult to find shooting ground. I’m doing door knocking and still persisting. I have printed off my insurance documents and have written agreements all ready to go. I shoot shotguns and have a huge passion for pigeon and corvid shooting. I used to be part of a syndicate in Surrey so used to get to do a bit of game shooing. Being only 19 and not having the 20+ years of experience that everyone else does I think this puts be lower down the list for people. i was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to let me accompany them on any sort of day out shooting. Even a morning/evening stalking where I learn to galloch a deer (done a few times in new Zealand but no master of the trade). I’m so eager and willing to learn but I’m just struggling to find the opportunities. Im fully insured with gun plan and very gun aware. look forward to hearing from you lot! Many thanks, Tom

Further details of the course and booking instructions can be found hear http://basc.org.uk/sporting-services/basc-training-courses/shooting-for-the-future/ We have received numerous Testimonials from the previous events held at Loddington in Leicestershire “The high standard of presentations and coaching reinforced my opinion that conservationists and game shooters are very well represented by GWCT and BASC, who do so much for the environment and their membership, which is open to all.” IW, Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Environmentalist “I’m Still elated from a first class day last Friday.” IB “It was first class” – Mr Walker “The simulator was brilliant. The Coaching session was perfect! And the instructors Superb; Well Done! “– Mr Burkinshaw. “The range judging and subtending was an eye opener – How wrong can one be? Very useful course” – Mr Pawlth “Fantastically informative for someone with little experience of game shooting. Such better value than an hours private lesson at the local clay ground, plus the proceeds go to a worthy cause” – Mr Cormichael “Thank you for a very interesting day” – Mr Allen “BASC and GWCT have put together an excellent course giving me much to think about, and techniques to help improve my shooting. All staff were extremely friendly with a wealth of experience in all forms of shooting. Very much looking forward to my next course” – Mr Stott “We were both new to shooting and believe that all new certificate holders would benefit from this early insight if they intend to shoot quarry. We are certainly more respectful. Thank you for your time. Very well run and informative course and exceptional value” – Mr and Mrs Mason.
  11. I've grown up shooting my fathers Beretta which fits me perfectly. 12 Bore with 28 in barrels and an unusual handgrip. I've only ever seen them again on rizzini and perazzi guns. I recently bought my own beretta but the hand grip is different and I feel its chunkier and harder to shoot Heres a picture to explain what I mean about the grips i know the top gun is a rizzini but its the only example I could find of the handgrip does anyone know if there's a special name for this kind of grip? or why beretta dont seem to do that grip anymore? thanks

  13. Hello everyone, I have a few things that I'm looking to sell, which are the following: 1. PlayStation Vita Wifi + 3G Model. Brand new in original box - £115 (£8.25 postage if required). This came with my recent PlayStation 4 purchase however handheld consoles are really not my thing. 2. Moto G 8GB SIM Free Smartphone - As Brand New - £105 (£6.95 postage if required). The phone is like brand new. I have only opened to the box to ensure all the contents are present and to unlock the phone. This is an excellent phone which has many good reviews and is on par with phones around £200. 3. Knack PlayStation 4 Game - Like New - £33 (£1.95 postage if required) I have played the game for around 2 hours, in comes in the original box like new. Please note: this is a bundle copy. 4. Samsung Galaxy Ace - Pure White - Vodaphone - £50 (£6.95 postage if required) I am selling this phone on behalf of my mum as she just upgraded. The phone is in good condition, it comes complete in the original box with all the original accessories. I purchased this for her around 10-11 months ago, new from Carphone Warehouse. 5. MacBook Pro 13" - SOLD The Macbook Pro is in good condition with just a few marks from general use. It comes with the wall charger unit. Specs: i5 Processor, 320GB Hard Drive and 4GB RAM. Also, I believe the MacBook has 11 months warranty remaining with Apple which is transferable. If you have sensible questions please let me know and I will be happy to help. To save a little time I have priced the items as low as I would be willing to go, so no offers please. Pictures can be sent upon request Thank you!
