PW Awards????

What are the chances of setting up some form of "Official" Pigeon Watch Awards to honour those that not only frequent this forum but also the Shooting Grounds, Gun Shops and other suppliers that we spend our hard earned reddies in???

Surely it wouldn't be too hard to collate suggestions for suitable categories, and nominations for those categories, here so that the mods could decide upon which they would like to allow us to vote on :yp:

Potential categories could include:

- Best Shooting Ground Award

- Most helpful PW'er

- Best Customer Service Award

- Longest standing PW feud Award

- Best Cartridge

I don't for one second think that we should shy away from "encouraging" any grounds, shops and/or products from improving their performance/services so maybe some commemorative PW wooden spoons wouldn't be a bad idea for certain "Worst....." categories.

Any other suggestions more than welcome :good:

So mod's what do you reckon??? :yp:

I've thought about these things in the past and every time I have come up against brick walls. The problem is how do you judge these things. Shops and grounds etc. are regional and so would be based on popularity within its region. A highly populated area would get more votes but may not be the best and so on.

Most Helpful Member, there are far too many things to consider, how do you define most helpful. Some that has mentored another member or someone that has been patient enough to answer all the .22 vs .17(7) questions?

Who provides the award?

As much as I like the idea of having such things as a way to bolster the community, I just can't see how it would work fairly.

Of course, if a way presents itself, we can always review this.

There are always obstacles to overcome, thats why you're a mod ???

Would it not be possible for people to suggest categories on this thread and then for the mods to select the categories that they deem "fair" for the PW masses to vote on?

Once suitable categories have been established then it's down to the masses to nominate worthy winners, and again wait for the mods to select a shortlist for each category.

As for the voting, one option would be to only allow one vote per registered user, per category. Most forums can facilitate these voting rules easily enough ???

Who provides the award? Good question :) I've got oscar-esq Golden Pigeons in mind
