pavman
Fantastic day with great company, thanks to Alex and John for ensuring that it ran as smooth as silk. Bag was 45 I think including 2 hares, 1 Duck, 1 partridge, 1 woodcock and the rest were pheasants. Thanks to Pavman and Astra for picking up (I hope we kept her busy enough) That dirty looking spaniel is now all clean and curled up at my feet. We were discussing leaving a pile of red cartridge cases on the road on the way home, but then decided that we weren't that sad. you forgot the road runner

Ferretboy111
Was a good day, most of my manchurian pheasants flew an absolute treat. Was 45 bag, for 190 shots.... however before lunch it was 28 bag for 132 shots... You do the math! Glad you had a good day... ill be glad when the sugar beet is off.. MC
Sounds like we shot better after a beer at lunchtime. Perhaps we ought to start the day with a skinful of "Wifebeater" in true Essex Stylie.
pavman
It was a treat to watch Bagsy stand motionless whilst Partridge flew past him on 3 drives, what skill and self control he has,,, Fantastic
Raja Clavata
45 for 190 shots!? Is this proof that too much clay shooting screws up your game technique?
al4x
well it could be assuming they're any good at clay shooting

MC
45 for 190 shots!? Is this proof that too much clay shooting screws up your game technique? Not at all, It goes to prove the quality of ferretboy111's birds and how well they flew. I can honestly say I do not have any issue with missing birds that flew like that, and anyway a 1 in 4 ratio ain't that bad.
al4x
was it really windy? we've been having some corking birds in the current weather, last weekend had a very good team struggle to shoot 150 with a kill ratio about 1:5 and that was simply down to the quality of the birds
MC
It wasn't overly windy, I suppose probably between 15 and 20 mph but the birds got up and flew like homesick angels. The partridge that I shot was given a serious ammount of lead and it was only about 25yards out. The birds were excellent, no two ways about it. ME
I always managed to be in the wrong place all day somehow that day. I know..it happens.. I can only boast a few wild potshots across other peoples pegs and a shot that only served to bring down a fezant that Bazza had already tickled. Therefore, I would say that my kill ratio was excellent
