smig4373
My grandfather (god rest is soul) was a north of England Champion Pork pie Butcher back in the 50's...He also won Champion sausage maker 2 years on the bounce....He worked for Willeys butchers in Sutton-in Ashfield,Notts after the war... Shop bought Pork pies dont really cut the mustard compared to the Ones he used to make...The smell coming out his kitchen every Monday morning was truly Amazing....But if i had to eat 1...The Pat Gorman Game pie is rather spiffing.... Wesman
I've got the pork pie to end all pork pies. I bought it from a farm shop near Scarborough, the name has red in it. It was a pork pie with bits of black pudding in, the jelly was sweet and the pastry was out of this world. I'd drive to scarborough right now for another one if I could. I'll try and find the farm shop.

Delbert
My Nan uesd to make the best pork pie going . I used to love the smell of it as she made it. Out of this worldSweepy cant stand then. Its the jelly. But i think thats the best bit. That and the nice thick crust. xxxxSuzy Tittertons of Stockport used to bake superb pork pies at the top of Lancashire Hill we used to nip out from the garage and buy a load/ Then leave them atop the big heater to get warmed through (the heater used to glow red around the firebox) meaty brilliance but you had to take care or the juice would suddenly pour out and burn your mouth.
