magman
Good shooting Magmen. What was their first return to registered comps like? Was it a good course? I thought it was a fair course 14 stands so many different targets also a few stands with midi's on screaming away over head . also the high tower seemed faster today for some reason So i would say a typical catton layout
b325
The moor they call Kingsley today for me. It seemed a little bit tougher today to me with some tricky stands.Only two stands straighted, Eight i dropped 1 on. .Dropped 3 from 6 on my last stand in the car park which was my only real downer on my day .85 it added up to Quite pleased overall.Getting closer to a 90+ which is what i want to get. Nicky T
Just got back from the 100 bird registered sporting at Llandegla. Hot, hot, hot. Fantastic weather. Not a bad shoot, missed too many silly ones again Gun down coming along, I suppose. Scores on the doors : Beretta - 89 Well shot chap Mr Potter - 80 Chard - 80 Thought it was 81 but it wasn't Anni - 76 Steadyish NickyT - 73 Thought Nick got more than this, couple of bad stands cost him dear. Whiskymac - ? Not sure what the score was but looked to be having a rough ride in parts Saw IanE there, think he got a tidy 71. IanE and Mr Potter headed off to Catton Hall to do it all again I was leading B Class when we left, but can't imagine that will last Cracking day out at Llandegla with Chard and co; excellent company and weather throughout :look: One less than good () stand did indeed cost me but not displeased with today as some new approaches worked a treat. Mr Potter
Is there a emoticon for "Hanging head in shame" I wasn't happy with my 80 at Llandegla, I had to straighten the last two stands to get that, it was a mixture of a number of stands with 1 away and a good few with 2, 3 and in one case 4 away. The upside was shooting with a good squad including for the first time in 10+ years Beretta. It's always a treat to shoot with a great shot, the one thing you always notice is that no matter how quick the bird, they never appear rushed. Beretta is in that class, everything appears to be in slow motion and bang, bang pair dead. I have watched a number of top shots over the years and I think Beretta is the most "normal" of them, some (Kevin Mayor) seem to hold onto targets for ever only pulling the trigger just as the bird is about to land. Others (Micky Rouse) shoot about a milli-second after the clay has left the trap, obviously both styles work for them but for us mere mortals if you can shoot birds just where Beretta shoots them we would all have improved scores Brian was unstoppable for the first 2/3 of the course, just 2 away then we came to 2 stands with white targets on and a few more slipped away but even so it was an education to watch. It's just a pity I didn't learn!!!! Any how left Llandegla for the 30+ mile drive to Catton Hall where I met the boy (Son of Potter), most had finished and where on their way home to watch s**te on the telly. Went round with Ian E who had also battered on down from Llandegla, started off up in the wooded top half of the shoot and shot quite well, 6 of the 14 stands shot and just 4 away. The remaining 8 stands were another matter completely a further 20 away to finish on a dismal 76 I'm claiming heat exhaustion or sun stroke anything but incompetence or (hows about this for a new word) ineptitude :look: Son of Potter meanwhile was grinding them out and finished on an 86 and he missed three on the last stand which was inexplicable. He got a third place in A class whilst I got joint 14th in infants Not sure what Ian E finished on, it might have been a 60 so he wasn't a happy bunny. The shoot was won by Graham Stizaker with a 97, he had already shot Kingsley Moor, had just finished Catton and was on the way to Llandegla as we were starting. Sorry for rambling on or if I've missed anything. Till next week Mr Potter

100milesaway
Had an excellent day out today at North Wold what a beautiful location this is.It's now fibre wad and i ended the round with a 66. Missing shed fulls of bag fillers and doing brilliantly on the long crossers of which there were plenty. It's quite amazing that i don't have the confidence with fibre wads and yet most of the kills i got on the 60/65yards out birds were really good kills. I think i need to get my gun mended as i have 1/2 and 1/2 chokes (long teagued)firmly stuck which wont help me on the close stuff. The chokes for those of you that don't know me , have been stuck for at least 3 years due to total neglect on my behalf, and have had numerous visits to the gunsmiths and local gun shops, ear , nose and throat specialist and various drownings in all kind of magic fluids, stays in intensive care etc etc but i really think this winter they will have to revisit Mr Tegue for therapy, and a saw. I still enjoyed the shoot in spite of my gun and did manage a 22/25 at the local league shoot on Wed eve. from Auntie.
Markio
Had a bit of a mare at the local with 31x50. 2 really duff stands. Bit trickier than usual. Doubt i'll be in the running to win the trophy shoot for my class.
Chard
Well shot Auntie Sounds like an interesting shoot. We don't seem to get much long range stuff round here. It would be good to have a pop at a few of those

Well shot Auntie I was there early on but after missing 15 over my first 4 stands I threw in the towel and left. Couldn't stand another battering and knew that the targets were only going to get more difficult as I went further down the hill.

beretta
bit of a late post but hey ho. llandegla was a better shoot than the ones previously so im sure they are learning from there mistakes of the past ones. just wish they would not use white clays, my personal bogey birds. a great round with a great squad made it a worthwhile round. obviously the manc mob shot better than average mainly because they were following me credit where its due they all shot well barr young scott who set off badly bid did recover, considering hes only been shootin 5.5 months hes doing well though. finally got to have a round with mrP too after many years just pity young potter was not there. highlight of the day was nickyt's paintball gun. one thing summs it up. B) :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

B) :o :o :o :o :o :o Yes, Llandegla now have an orange clay shooting ground :o It's amazing how much surface you can cover with about 2000 paintballs. Even the pattern plate and dustbin are now orange. The future's bright, Llandegla's orange
