docholiday
Well thinking of investing in a few sillosocks, never used them before but think they would be good in snow and above rape which is about 10" high now Question is are they worth investing in and how many should I buy. any help, experience welcome Doc

sandersj89
I use them, have 6 heads up and 6 heads down. I like them and find they add movement. Only negative is if the wind is too strong.
Popgun
I use them, have 6 heads up and 6 heads down. I like them and find they add movement. Only negative is if the wind is too strong. I use them for the same reason i've got 10 and mix them around the decoys it works for me you can't beat a bit of movment.
docholiday
OK I am going to buy two to give them a go think I will go for the hyperflapa thingy, pricey though !
malkiserow
I use them, have 6 heads up and 6 heads down. I like them and find they add movement. Only negative is if the wind is too strong. ...........or not enough! but you can stuff then with something light is there is no wind. However, they are excellent  I am not sure how good they are on 10 inch rape as deeks are far far better being lifted up higher.......... someone may have crafted an extension for the Sillysock rod to do just that They have their place as kit for travelling light if you have much walking to do................ I also use shells some flocked and some with SillyJackets. The shells are easy to put up high on extended rods
steve0146
i used the duck ones for the first time this year and had mallard drop straight into the pattern. If the wind is blowing, i always take them now
Cosd
I bought 24, 16 heads up and 8 heads down, and 2 hyperflaps from someone here on the forum. Used them today first time. Very impressed with both the sillosocks and the hyperflaps. I set up all 24 Silo's in a cluster and set up my old shells in another cluster about 25 - 30 yards between the two; Though it was a quiet day, the woodies that decoyed in headed straight for the Silo's, and on one occasion 3 landed right in the middle of the cluster even though the Silo's were no more than 25-30 inches apart. I started the day without the magnet, and when I introduced it to the pattern with the Hypers, I noticed an instant response from the woodies. They are pricey, but reading other reviews on the forum and my first experience with them today I think they are very worth the money. Tip, get more heads down than heads up, after all, you want your pattern to look they are feeding to entice the woodies down......
mudpatten
I recently bought 20 of the shell jackets and they certainly seem to work. A lot less bulk/weight to carry when compared to full bodied decoys. I was so impressed with their performance that I`m saving up to get a dozen canada goose sillosocks as well. pavman
I have 40 pink foot Geese and 20 woodies, all are head down feeders, the hypa flappers have not worked out to well so i still use a dead bird on the rotary for woodies, however you have the mount them right for best use...... and its not how they tell you Fantasic kit IMHO who can carry 40 geese on a 40 mins trek to the marsh, I can flat packed betwwen to bits of ply and a shock cord

picardy
Hi mate i use the silosocks jackets over my shell decoys work a treat and also hypa flaps either on bouncers or even better on a rotary look really affective with the slightest bit of breeze and on the rotary i personally prefer them to dead birds as you can turn the speed down and they look as they flapping and landing in your pattern each to there own i surpose!! GOOD LUCK
