Cookiemonsterandmerlin.
Not sure if I am reading it right but chamber lentgh make no diffrents. You will still only be able to fit two in the system with one round in the chamber. Regards OTH
motty
I know of some 3 shot semi autos chambered 3.5 inch that you can carry three shells in the magazine. Edited February 23, 2010 by motty

MC
2x3.5=7 3x2.75=8.25 3x2.5 = 7.5 Unlikely to be more than 2, unless someone knows of a specific example. The lengths you quote is the fired length of the case not the loaded length. Some of the Extremas can hold 3 2.5 inch cartridges in the magazine. sitsinhedges
Why would you want to Would you really like to see us restricted to one in the magazine
humperdingle
You can still buy 2" compact shells. Dunno if they'd cycle from a semi, though.
inthedark
legally speaking, if you have an auto that's manufactured as a three shot, but will actually hold four carridges, its still a S.2. ie 3 1/2" mag chambered ones. Sad but true, sleep easy!!!

Guest cookoff013
all auto`s and pumps can only hold 3 shells. usually its expressed as 1+2. legally speaking, all auto`s and pumps can only hold 1+2 shells. the crimp is in place on the magazine. the crimp restricts the rim of the cartridge or the spring/ magazine `thingy / plug` pushing the shells. all auto`s and pumps only hold 1+2 shots. my recomendation, if you want a gun to hold 1+2 shots i`s get an auto or pump. if you want a gun that holds more, apply for fac. -are you getting the point? (hint -hint)
