steve_b_wales
SAK or SAKO. Both excellent lightweight mod's.
bicykillgaz
SAK or SAKO. Both excellent lightweight mod's. can't comment on the sak but i've had various and the sako is noticably the quietest i've ever heard mate can't go wrong for £30 either
Frenchieboy
I've not tried a Sako yet but I can highly recommend the SAK mod on either a .22LR or a 17HMR - Great value for money, easy to strip and clean and quite efficient!
drut
I have only tried Sak,Scirocco & Parker Hale but to be honest my CZ 22lr is really quiet with any of them & I would be hard pushed to notice any great difference. However I do find Eleys/Winchesters reliably quiet but CCi(segmented subs) & Remington have both given noise issues with some rounds going transonic
bennyblanco
I love the SAKO mod for ease of cleaning and I think it just has the edge on the others in terms of noise but you would probably need measuring equipment to really tell if there was anything in it between the SAK and SAKO. The sako is lighter but longer, like all .22lr mods its swings and roundabouts- the noise of impact will be louder than the report
welshwarrior
SAK for me no quiter than my PH but lighter so better balanced.
Dekers
The Parker Hale is a good bread and butter mod, but the SAK and Sako, as others have said probably edges it! I have also used the Hog, DM80, Sirocco, Cub, and CQB..I think there was another but I forget, ........ I'm content with the SAK these days Edited March 12, 2010 by Dekers
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
A SAK silencer is good VFM. So is a Sako silencer.
bullet boy
Another vote for the SAK as I use one on my Ruger10/22.
starlight32
I've not tried a Sako yet but I can highly recommend the SAK mod on either a .22LR or a 17HMR - Great value for money, easy to strip and clean and quite efficient! The sak is not a dedicated .17 HMR mod though, you will find in time you will burn it out. A more suitable one is wildcat whisper, far superior. A sak is the people choice becuase it is cheap. My local charges 55 quid for them now as according to him they should be proofed for sale, where as a whisper are £125. Have googled it but still none the wiser.
