Maori Haz
I am a member of the BASC because it gives me full insurance, and i can also go on young shot's days etc. You also receive monthly BASC magazines  MH
Cranfield
The Insurance cover offered when joining one of these Associations, is a major asset. BASC, Countryside Alliance, National Gamekeepers Organisation (open to "Supporters") , all offer insurance cover. Landowners like to know that you carry your own Insurance cover, (some demand it). Axe
BASC is the only choice for me, though I am sure you will be happy with the insurance provided by the other organisations.
SNAKEBITE
I prefer to go with BASC as they cover and support all aspects of shooting. Plus farmers and landowners recognise the name and know you are sensibly backed.
kip270
BASC, because if you upgrade to Shotguns or full bore rifle's you have insurance, but you are also covered for all fieldsports, and i would say more farmers know of the BASC
blackthorn
basc seems the best one to be with. been a member for a good few years plus this year moved in to shotguns Edited November 11, 2005 by blackthorn687
lurcherboy
I have been in the BASC for a few years now. There are issue's with them regarding the number of staff etc. But I owe them my SGC which they helped attain. There phone lines are good too, usually helpfull and if the person at the other end can't answer my query, someone who can will call back. G man
OK I guess its BASC then ,Thanks for replies guy,s,I will send away for membership as soon as i have some extra dosh as i have just spent spare cash on some target holders and the magnetic target with the wild boar targets and centre disc to reset.Just need to build a higher fence around garden to stop the nosies from annoying me  .I normally shoot at a local farm where the farmer has given me access to a field with a telegraph pole in the centre which is ideal for the target holder, but dont fancy hauling the magnetic one around the field as it is quite heavy Cheers, G
JJaxeman
Looks like I am a bit late in replying but I would all so go for BASC they have got to be the No 1 Choice for all shooters. Insurance has got to be had IMO before you go out in the field for live targets so to speak. Cheers and good shooting. Jas
