lamping what do you think?

Recommended Posts

these types of lamps are a no no in my opinion but i do lamp almost every week if not more. i would say go for a lightforce but if you dont want to spend that much for a new lamp try posting on the wanted page for a 2nd hand one.

its not that i dont want to spend the money i just thought it looks kind of easy to carry, batterie for 4 hours and it says you can spot rabbits up to 300 yards. i wont be shooting rabbits any more than 65 yards. I know its not going to be the best but i am only going to be going out for a couple of times a year. can i still have your opinions to see what you guys thanks.?

I've never used an LED lamping kit. LEDs have certainly come a fair way from when they first came out, so this one might well be good enough. I can only speak from experience, however, and say that for pure light-throwing ability, the Lightforce is hard to beat. Wiring on them is a bit rubbish, though, so you'll find a soldering iron handy :ernyha:

I don't think that the lamp would be of much use. Plus, if you are buying it from America, you may get clobbered with a duty charge from our friends in HM Customs/Excise.

A good lightweight lamp is the Cluson Blaserlite (2 million cp) which can be easily converted to a lamp scope. I use one regulary, and they are brilliant.

when ordering anything outside the uk, ask the seller to mark it as a gift, no duties are then paid on it

Cluson Blaserlite are the way ahead, i use mine maybe 3 nights aweek. Its good for the airrifle with red filter or the hmr. Its also used for the lurcher. cracking wee lamp. they are not big money either. I get about 4 hours lamping out of it. It dies a bit quicker when hunting with the lurcher.

do you think this lamp will be ok for walking on foot and lamping rabbits.? not seriously into lamping but was just wanting a lamp for a few nights out. what do you think.? http://nativeoutdoors.stores.yahoo.net/siriusblk.html

What gun and what range are you thinking??

This could be ok, but there are plenty of others gun mounted and with a dimmer which makes life very easy....There is no need for the likes of a LF 170 if you are talking about air rifle ranges!!

Get a lightforce striker170 with a lithium ion battery its the biz! Have it on the gun or in the hand with freinds, the battery is a must though I use to use a cb2 clulite, well best thing I ever done getting a lightforce, but a lithium ion batt is also a brilliant step up,revolutionary u mite even say!

Matt, hi. Thanks for the reply; I just had a feeling that Acc. Int. was going to come into the equation.
