I have a ASE ultra that cost £82 a year ago, it was voted the best .17hmr moderator. Its only down fall, though slimmer than the sak its much heavier as its made of steel and not alley. I suppose it is comparable with a .22lr on stingers sound wise and maybe this is what the chap meant. The ultra is cleanable, would recommend it.

Whack a sack on it mate. About £40 mark give or take. And for a cheap bit of kit it does the job well. You can pay out more if you like, but i think you'll paying too much out for little difference in sound moderation. This question has been asked many times before on this forum. And the humble sak seems to used by most pw members whether on their .17 hmr or .22lr. But the choice is up to you in the end. ATB

Be a little careful here, most video cameras have a sound reducer which can make rifles sound a bit quieter than they actually are!

I swear by the SAK mod on my 17HMR, it's as good as any others and at around just £30.00 it's very good value for money!

when you say pretty quick... i've put about 3000 rounds through mine and it's still working fine, £30 well spent IMHO

And don't forget Jackson Rifles guarantee on the SAK...if it EVER goes wrong/wears out, return it to them and they will replace with a brand new one for 60% of cost of new!

That is still the situation as far as I am aware!!
