goldypurple
Very good rifle, i bought one second hand off a member off here, so far no complaints, very quiet with a parker hale mod on, only minor problem is the trigger, but this can be over come with a trigger kit from rimfire magic. so far 85 rabbits in 3 weeks with it, all depends what you want thou. Vince Green
Not as accurate as a good bolt action generally but a whole lot more fun.
willy1
I've got one, shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards, and likes CCi Mini-Mags, sometimes jams with Winchester subs, and I have fitted the custom power hammer kit, which improves the trigger pull weight, but,as said cleanlyness is an absolute with them. steve_b_wales
Agree with some of the comments made - keep them clean -not as accurate as a bolt action. I'm on my third 10/22 and have modified it a bit with new trigger parts etc. They are a well made rifle, and I recommend them. Google ruger22.com for details on parts etc. Steve. eddoakley
Only 1 difference on my thoughts, mine is covered in sh*te and still works fine Great fun, not as accurate as my cz, loads of cheap and good mods and very well made and reliable Edd
welshwarrior
Great rifle in my veiw love it to bits. I had to have a new stock but I've got monkey arms. It's accurate enough for bunny shooting out to 80 yards happily and can go furture when you get to know the 22 Rnd. Get a selection of rounds and see whitch cycles and groups the best Winny Sub x work best for me but Stingers are not bad either!
willy1
Get a selection of rounds and see whitch cycles and groups the best Winny Sub x work best for me but Stingers are not bad either! I'm surprised that you use stingers in the 10/22,Ruger don't advise their use, if they work then that's the most important thing, any problems at all? welshwarrior
Willy no prob nut only used about 50 what problems could I get didn't know ruger said not to use them is that all HV rounds?
willy1
I think it's because the case on a stinger is longer than standard and may jam in the chamber, there's some more info on the Rimfireshooting.com forum... Ammunition,...Ruger 10/22 and stinger ammo. Alan
rimfire4969
you have to be carful what you put through them semmi's can be fussy, you have to keep them nice and clesn.. I have no problems with a few different rounds, winchesters are what i use mostly, mine is never cleaned unless it really needs it and affects the way it shoots. It is a work horse and does its job extremely well. I have had a few mods from Rimfire Magic and from the states.

Ammunition,...Ruger 10/22 and stinger ammo. Alan I recently read the ruger manual online as I'm looking at getting one, AFAIR it advised not to use stingers in the target version only for that very reason, it implied it would be fine in all other models tho. Will re-check in a bit edit Yep according to the manual Here Stinger ammo must not be used in the tighter chambers of 10/22 target rifles Edited June 17, 2010 by Katash
Vince Green
Very few rifles shoot well with stingers but the few that do seem to go well with them. Anyway its not a problem as the ranges you mention subs are fine. The ruger is good fun and make sure you buy a 30 rnd mag for a bit of play. There is something very satisfying letting go a whole magazine. Thats why Rugers are such good fun. No point in having a Ruger if you can't do that now and again.
