Nice Rack......

This year the family FCS are off to Sunny Somerset and going to experience the joys of Luckyard Farm - Along with the usual array of towels and sandcastle construction kit we will also be taking bikes, fishing gear and decoying equipment. 2 adults, 3 kids and a clumber spaniel in a Disco for 4 hours - Oh deep joy!

So, what i need are some PW recommendations - Firstly for a roof rack "cage" - I've got a mark 2 (i think) Disco with roof bars - Just want something solid with some walls attached to it - The roof boxes seem a little awkward and you can't get all the odd shaped stuff in. The car only goes a max of 75 so aerodynamics aren't really much of a factor. Any ideas what to use or where to get one?

Secondly, the rugrats have got a bike each and we would be looking for something to attach to the back door, BUT, there's a flippin' great spare wheel in the way which negates most of the bike carriers i have seen - Agai, any ideas chaps?

Other than that, it looks like we might have to get a trailer which i really don't fancy too much but hey ho!!!!

Thanks,

FCS

I have got a Thule roof rack in my shed that I dont use anymore. You will need the cross bars (not just front to back rails) to use it. You are welcome to borrow it or buy it for £25.00 if you think that you'll use it again. :good:

We bought a cycle rack from Halfords that will fit over the spare wheel. If you come over we could try it and if it works you can borrow it for a small "Port fee"

Alternatively leave the dog, sprogs and missus at home and we'll make it a lads holiday :hmm:

Cheers

Matt

I Have done the Luckyard Farm holiday with a trailer and the road up to the farm is not for the faint hearted who has little experience with trailers <_< not that I am questioning anyones abilties.

I hope you like trout as there were loads in the lake last time I went there, the clay shooting is good too, ask Carlton to take you rabbiting on "the other land" we shot about nine rabbits from the truck in fifteen minutes and some on the move!

It will cost you a bottle of whisky as that is the currency if you want the little "extras" like this.

It really is a lovely place and you can please yourself when you go shooting or fishing and they love guns!!!!
