good news I got my Variation back and was able to collect my New Tikka Hunter- bad news as I left the RFD some dozy woman ran onto the back of my truck doing around 40 mph- I was stationary at a roundabout- she said she didnt see me (its a 2 ton Isuzu Trooper) and its HUGE

No damage to the truck just a slightly bent tow bar B) - no damage to me apart from some whiplash in the neck :yp:

her car pushed in bonnet and bumper and an ominous green liquid leaking from the Radiator :oops::oops: I think my spare wheel took most of the impact

Least I got my rifle

you're bloody mad not to get compensation for it as you don't know how it will affect you in years down the line - I suffered a whiplash injury during self defence classes 10 years ago and still suffer with locking up/ pain in my neck! £2500 buys a lot of co codamol!

Hi Les, have it checked mate if you're not conversant with accident damage, it may have done more than you think !

Whiplash = £2500 :yp: B)

Rod

Thats a nice shiny new shot gun Les....Ive been looking and £ 2500 would go a good way towards a really nice gun.

Hiya,

Are you sure about her doing 40 mph :yp:? at that speed the whole front end of her car should be caved in... as already said get yourself checked out by a doc /hospital.

Perhaps if she had replaced her passenger side wiper blade she might have seen you B)

Hurts like hell- feels like Ive been hit hard on the neck- just where it meets the skull and NO Im not pursuing her for damages- she was an old lady

Les :yp:

Sorry to hear about this, but as others have said get your injury seen and recorded and the Old lady won't be paying her insurance will.

Im fine guys just a slight discomfort in the neck is all- will go to Dr's tomorrow if it gets any worse overnight

Not looking to make money out of this - not my thing at all B)

Les

Well said that man  ...the guys extolling you to claim (possibly fraudulently) are probably the first to moan on here about their motor insurance premiums for ever going through the roof! B***** where there's a blame there's a claim culture :yp: it's for chavs and do as you likeys no self respecting being should give it a thought!

she wasn't doing 40 believe me, as said her car would have looked very different if she had been.

Its amazing what trucks put up with a shall we say overweight female decided to run into my L200 while it was parked the other morning, hit the front scratched my bumper leaving her with no bumper, headlight broken and bonnet damage B) her excuse she pulled in to let someone come from the other direction and her car wouldn't stop :yp:

With regard to the whiplash hopefully you have her insurance details what you need to do is make sure the accident is reported and see your doc, If you don't have any lasting issues then fine but if it keeps coming back and you need a see a physio long term it will cost you a packet. I'm like you I wouldn't claim fraudulently as everyone is suggesting but would be a bit ****** to be out of pocket from an accident that wasn't my fault

I don't think anyone is suggesting to put a fraudulent claim in, but if you have been rear ended and have slight neck pain now, you will probably have major neck pain tonight or tomorrow. This is what happened to me, I was fine for 5 hours after the initial incident but then was unable to move my head in any direction and it was well over a week before it was normal enough to function properly!

i had a toyota hilux pickup a few years ago, ( i was going through a redneck phase B)) a lady pulled up behind me in a multistorey car park entrance and managed to slip her foot off the clutch and lurched forward into the back of me. The towbar had mangled the front of her car and ripped through the bumper and bonnet, she seemed really worried - - I must have scared the **** out of her when i got out - 19+ stone of shaven headed "thug u like" at the time :yp: ! I looked at my pickup and noticed a couple of small dinks in the bumper which may or may not have been there previously, asked if she was all right and told her to forget it from my side as it was her car that was knackered - she really didn't believe me at first but as far as i was concerned no one was hurt, I was driving a pickup which is designed to get battered and used on sites and off road so as long as there was no serious damage no problem, she was going to have a gbad enough time explaining the large v shaped dent in the front of her car anyway!

and did you die? obviously not! are you able to function? obviously! now think about perhaps someone like the policeman RM shot who's probably going to have to get used to being blind for the rest of his days THEN think how lucky you are!

If you are going down that route then no-one should ever get any kind of compensation or reimbursement at all as there is always someone worse off than them :yp:

Thats not a 40mph crash more like 10mph if that (anyway 40mph coming up to a roundabout, granny needs to slow down a bit :yp: )
