TJ91
I would like to take back saying that i dont rate hatsan escorts i have just been out this afternoon with my friends new (2nd hand) escort and what a great afternoon it was, i was using 28g 7.5s with a quarter choke, it worked perfect (184 shots, recycled the lot, no jams at all!) and for once i got a bag worth talking about i have never been to great at shooting with semi-autos (beretta 303, benelli super 90, al391) but this gun seemed to fit just right and i could follow and point exactly as i should, i finally got my aim of 1 in 3 and then bettered it... the only thing i arent to keen on is the fact that you have to push the button in to slide more cartridges in the mag...is there anyway of getting around this, with the other semi's you could just slide them in as and when without having to push a button to unlock it!?? DSPUK
You might just be stuck with that -- My old Winchester is same but now I am used to it - I did have a hiccup when loading two in mag tube - you must keep button pressed - let it go and I can't press it again unless I unload. Paul223
quite sure it can be doctored
TJ91
its not my gun...but i am thinking of taking it off his hands as its the first semi i have been any good with and i want something i can put decent steel loads through on the foreshore..hopefully i can get a good deal as he never uses it! i was hoping there would be some easy way of doctoring it but i guess if i do buy i will get used to it, it was just frustrating with the feral pigeons when they kept swooping round and i couldnt reload as quick as with the other semi's! vampire
You quickly get used to that dam button and is easy once you have the knack, but still not as good as the new hatsans.
TJ91
when my mate bought the gun he got all chokes, choke key and an o-ring, where is this o-ring for? i am guessing hatsan dished 1 out with the gun when selling knowing that it would break/wear out!? When you dismantle the gun for cleaning, you'll see it goes on the magazine tube.
Edward
They are cartridge fussy (mine was) and the new ones dont have a button apprently. I might just have to buy another, maybe a pumpy this time

blister
i have always rated these guns my self the button on the side you do get used to them before you know it comes as second nature i have never had a jam yet but i always clean my gun after a shoot . they need it if you shoot steal through it they get really dirty and allways make sure the gas port holes are kept clean and free if you do you shouldnt have a problem with jams as my mate found out he never cleaned the gas ports and he was getting jams all the time after i showed him were to clean them he hasent had any probs with the gun

stubby
the newer ones dont have the side button, but its still there, its just on the underside where you load shells, therefore the shell being inserted depresses the button
sitsinhedges
My 20g Hatsan is my 'go to' gun when I go out for a walk. It got soaked tonight, big deal, if it had been my Beretta I would have panicked. It needed a bit of tweaking when I got it second hand too, but I just seem to be able to hit stuff with it. It's quite frustrating in a way how successful this gun is compared to the more expensive guns I have bought. If only I'd have realised sooner I could have saved myself a fortune. adymorris
Had mine for nearly 5 years - nice cheap bit of kit, never let me down - it's just about to get a magazine extension & an MP-A pistol grip stock upgrade
