mpk
Hi guys , Went to my local shoot in gosport today and pulled up in the car park to find 2 armed police officers walking around. Shocked me a little as i had never seen this before . Has anyone else had this experience. Funny though i actually shot quit well . My gun mount is getting lots better with my new toy. Paddy Galore!
We've had them out to ours before, last time was about a woman who was trespassing while walking her dog "says" she got peppered with shot. An alright bunch of guys, once we explained that she must have ignored the safety flags and no trespassing signs.
inshallah
I very often see a police car down the lane to my club (AC sporting Targets) which is next door to the West London Shooting School. Often wondered if they are on 'official' business or if they just pop in to bust a few clays.

JonD
I have seen diplomats at Bisley with armed bodyguards, normally just say "you can't shoot this with a pistol" in a friendly way to break the ice. As for seeing armed police at a shoot why should there be a problem, i would have asked them if I could get them a tea\coffee and have a chat. Considering most of us hold SGC\FAC there seems to be an anti Police undertone at times which i can't understand, i can understand criminals disliking them but law abiding citizens? they are only doing a job and may well have gone the armed route having been hobby shooters initially. If you are legal; what's the issue? For all you know there may have been known criminals seen in the area casing the joint etc. Jon.

Sorry must have crossed wires did'nt say there was a problem just unusal as i had never seen them at a clay ground before Edited July 25, 2010 by mpk
Fuddster
No harm in them having a walk through-it wouldnt hurt to see the ground owner just as a courtesy. Last year at the Great Yorkshire Show there was a armed cop in uniform with a BASC sticker and a 'I'm happy about hunting' sticker on his shirt-Suprised his boss didnt admonish him for being politically motivated! regards fudd

BRYAN3
I have always thought we were paying them to spend their time walking among those with illegal guns. If they keep this up we will be asked to pay more for our licences as they insist its something they must do. It becomes the norm and they need more funding. They also train there Dogs at AC,s it is good for security as they only come down at the end of the day
