Wookie
You could talk to Mung, but with his connections to the Essex Mafia, it might not be the firearms experience you are after! Contact BASC...

harpoonlouis
Thank you for posts and pm's I will pass these on. It is not me in the doo doo and the person involved doesn't deserve to be in it either so any help is much appreciated.
Dougy
its a shame that people need to ask around for assistance in such unfortunate circumstances, if only they were allready a member of BASC or similar then they would have help on the other end of the phone. I hope its sorted soon
harpoonlouis
Dougy, I am BASC and few others besides but this is for a third party who is in a very different position, don't want to share any details as it is still an active case. I fully agree, pay your fees!

hogey
I think if you hold an FAC or SGC its worth the sixty odd pound to be a member of BASC.You never know what you may come up against these days if you use or carry firearms. Just my opinion mind you Dave

BASC will only fight in certain circumstances and you don't actually pay for legal insurance cover, sometimes this will be included with your house insurance but depends on the circumstances. vulpicide
Scottish association for country sports the legal insurance covers you for legal fees up to £100,000 I work with some of the specialist lawyers defending alleged wildlife crime they have recently contacted a specialist lawyer in England to work on that side of the border. Phone 01698 885206 for info. I tend not to criticize hunting or shooting associations as there are loads of antis to do that I'd rather shout about the positives rather than pickout the negatives. al4x
Hook line and sinker with both expected catches DaveK amd MarkB I'm still amazed that the SACS insurance will cover anyone even if its a hopeless case but good on em as the BASC you need to be a definite sure thing before they will pay legal fees. Which to an extent I can understand
Mungler
Start with the firearms boys at BASC, always.

Which to an extent I can understand i agree, BASC aint going to put their neck on the line for someone that has done 'something they shouldnt'. If you dont break the law in any way, then from what i understand, they will back you and thats what you pay the subs for. been a member for 15 years and will be for the next 15 no trouble..pay for it hoping never to need it!
